As IM global consultants, Jeanine and Walt are resources for ministries that work with historically under- served religious groups. Walt seeks to equip internation- al partners, development workers, pastors and local leaders for cul- turally appropriate and relevant discipleship, both faithful to Scrip- ture and honoring to their host cultures. He believes this is the most effective way to be transformed people transforming the lives of others. He has also been developing and teaching new materials to help workers identify the limitations of their own worldviews and to break out of those limits to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Jeanine works with women in global service and their children, helping them to overcome social and cultural stresses and to raise children in a radically different cul- ture. She teaches skills for dealing constructively with these challenges and opportunities, increasing the longevity of service. learned he had no children and no wife. He was living a solitary life in the emptiness around him. “Do you want to go for a horse-back ride?” he asked eagerly. We politely declined, knowing that if we did it would be our last! “Please come back when it is warm,” he said, “and we can ride into the mountains.” We happily promised to do so. One more serendipity. One more lonely life touched, simply because

we are able to be there. Where will it lead? Maybe only into the beautiful mountains. But maybe also beside still waters, where the famer’s soul will be restored. Please pray that these “random encounters” will prove to be what we believe they are—di-vine appointments arranged by the One who has sent us there—and that this lonely shepherd will find his Shepherd.
