Please view the school website for general information: http://www.hillside.wa.edu.au Position Description HillSide Christian College is seeking a Qualified Educator @ 0.66 FTE (with possible extension to 1.0FTE in future) to coordinate its OSHC Centre. The successful applicant will be a practising evangelical Christian, who is able to work within the College’s Christian framework. The position is ONGOING with a six month probation period. All applicants wishing to submit an application will need to demonstrate their personal faith in Jesus Christ as God and Saviour, with an active involvement in an evangelical, Christian Church. The applicant should be an educator of quality with high level skills, and an ability to work in a Christian team setting. The applicant will be able to agree, practise and sign both the Code of Conduct, and the College’s Statement of Faith. Applicant should apply by providing the following: 1. Covering letter (maximum one page); 2. The applicant’s current CV outlining qualifications, Church membership details, references, and career history; 3. A written two A4 page application statement with 12 point font size minimum, which describes how the applicant will perform the position. Relevant experience should be cited.; 4. All examples in the applicant’s statement should be framed within the Christian worldview and related to the advertised position; 5. A written reference from Pastor/Elder, or contact details of the Pastor/Elder who may be contacted for a verbal reference; 6. All qualifications and compliance documents in the dot points below. Supply photocopies of the original documents in the application. Originals will need to be sighted at interview: a current Working with Children Card; a recent National Police Check (NPC) (or willingness to undertake an immediate NPC); Qualifications that meet the minimum requirements for ACECQA’s OSHC Qualified Educator status. Position Title Out of School Hours Care Coordinator (OSHC) - Qualified Educator

Role Description HillSide Christian College operates a OSHC programme for school-aged children from HillSide Christian College for students from Kindergarten to Year 7.

The programme operates during school terms for the duration of the year, usually five days per week; Monday to Friday, excluding holiday periods, and Pupil Free Days. There are two sessions per day. Before school from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., and after school from 3.00 p.m. to 6 p.m. The College may initiate, and operate a Vacation Care programme in the future, and the successful applicant may be expected to coordinate and lead this additional programme on site.

The OSHC Coordinator is a member of the College team, and reports to the OSHC Nominated Supervisor, which is the College Principal, or his delegate.

Context: HillSide Christian College OSHC is a service within the operations of HillSide Christian College, which delivers the mission of HillSide Church, Forrestfield.

HillSide is committed to Christian principles and practice. The OSHC Centre is a new service, which is being transferred by another provider to the College. The total enrolment of the Centre will be a maximum of 26 students (in 2019). The Service is conducted onsite at the College in a demountable classroom. The working space is reserved for the sole operation of the Centre, with shared outdoor areas, including general school playgrounds. Toilets are in the Centre. The College website can be viewed at: www.hillside.wa.edu.au The successful applicant will lead a Christian-based OSHC service to the children enrolled in the College. This is a fee based service, which is compliant with the NQS.

Budgetary Responsibilities The OSHC Coordinator is responsible for the managing the appointed budget. This includes ordering of resources for use in the OSHC programme, and maintaining accurate and complete records of expenditure and income. The College Business Manager will provide support and oversight of the cost centre. The OSHC coordinator should liaise, and report to the College Business Manager in relation to the cost centre. The College Business manager acts under the authority of the College Principal.

Personnel Responsibilities In conjunction with the Nominated Supervisor, the OSHC Coordinator is responsible for the management and rostering of staff within the programme.

Main Responsibilities and Accountability Areas The OSHC Coordinator is responsible for:

• Providing leadership for the campus OSHC programme, including Christian leadership, which includes prayer, devotions, grace and Bible literacy;

• Planning and delivering a stimulating and diverse daily programme, providing positive experiences and interactions for all children attending;

• Ensuring all activities and practices undertaken by the children and the comply with the rules of the College and ACECQA regulations;

• In consultation with the College Principal, the OSHC Coordinator, ensures compliance with all aspects of National Quality Standards (NQS) and State licensing requirements;

• Providing training and support for new OSHC assistants; • Maintaining accurate records of student and staff attendances at the programme; • Liaising with the Principal, Business Manager, and other campus and College staff to ensure

smooth delivery of the programme; • Supervising food distribution during the course of the programme; • Planning and ordering any equipment purchases that may be necessary for the delivery of the

programme, in conjunction with the OSHC staff and the College Principal; • Proactively providing accurate and complete records of attendances, monies spent, and any

incidents occurring during the programme, as required; • Demonstrating full awareness of work health and safety issues and procedures, complying with

these and taking responsibility for the Centre while supervising; • Supervising students and ensuring safety, compliance and that an enjoyable programme is

executed; • Any other duty, in line with the relevant Award and training, that is delegated by the Principal.
