I am a 3-in-1 “CzecKoreAmerican”: born in Korea, childhood in Czech Republic, adolescence in America. My first exposure to architecture was in high school at the Harvard Graduate School of Design’s summer program. I continued to pursue my goal at Virginia Tech School of Architecture + Design, and now I’m back where at the city I call home to experience the European side of architecture. I believe that if culture was a human being, architecture would be his personality. The project was to create a new urban development in Modřany. The proposal makes use of the existing condition: raised tram tracks, railroad, and surrounding environment. The district has many sports facilities, but lacks any type of commercial or places to eat, so the first solution was to develop a dynamic area. Instead of building a big shopping mall, we made a human-scale boulevard where people can connect and socialize with more comfort and ease. The commercial buildings act as sound and zone barriers to provide a more quiet environment for the residents. I am a 3-in-1 “CzecKoreAmerican”: born in Korea, childhood in Czech Republic, adolescence in America. My first exposure to architecture was in high school at the Harvard Graduate School of Design’s summer program. I continued to pursue my goal at Virginia Tech School of Architecture + Design, and now I’m back where at the city I call home to experience the European side of architecture.I believe that if culture was a human being, architecture would be his personality.
