Some interesting findings• Not all majors/courses of study are open to

Oversees Returnees• Many universities do not accept Japanese

students who have been boarders – their parents must have been overseas too.

• Overseas Returnees: desirable at some universities, other universities are not anxious to admit – Now some universities are using the term – Students who have experienced overseas school attendance.

• AO admission is possible at some universities but not all– Admission based on extraordinary

accomplishments

Basic Documents for Admissions

• All universities require the following items:–Application–Transcript–Diploma or Certificate of Attendance

–Certificate of Graduation (is the diploma)

Procedure for sending letters of recommendation

• All letters of recommendation from the International School Bangkok are confidential.

• All ISB letters of recommendation must be mailed from ISB directly to the university.

• This policy applies to all letters of recommendation mailed world wide.

• All documents going to Japan will be stamped with the following message in Japanese:

This document is official only if received in a sealed ISB envelope

Second Check Box

Student will submit official ISB transcript with all other application documents. ISB will provide the student with an official transcript stamped, “This document is official only if received in a sealed ISB envelope”. Student will be given an unofficial copy for translation and/or inspection.

Note: Official transcripts will be available 4 weeks prior to the filing date listed above.   Certificate of Attendance/Graduation Transcript to be mailed via regular mail to student’s address:

Student will submit all application documents directly to the university with the exception of the letters of recommendation and official transcript. Student will be given an unofficial transcript copy for translation and/or inspection. If requested, ISB will mail recommendation letter(s) and official transcript via express mail to arrive during the appropriate filling dates listed above. Fee for express mailing is 700 baht. (This amount will change next year)
