 January 2015 ATHLETICS AT AIS HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE ATHLETIC DEPARTEMENT!!!! With very little time to recoup after the break our JV and Varsity Basketball competitions began. Our JV Boys and Girls played BBS in their Home Openers and both were victorious in their effort s. The Varsity teams travelled to BBS for their Season Openers and both won in very convincin g fashion. Training for Track and Field continues in preparation for the KSAA meets t hat take place in February. Once again please stay tuned for an e-mail requesting your time and effort volunteering at the meets. “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career I have lost almost 300 games. 26 times I have been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I have failed over and over again in m y life and that is why I succeed” Michael Jordan COACHING OPPORTUNITIES I have had a number of teachers come to speak to me about potential coaching position s for next year. Just a reminder about the proce ss that will take plac e. In Late February/Early March :  Existing coaches will have the opportunity to recommit to their present position(s). Spring Break/Early April :  A google document will allow current staff to apply for open coaching positions. You will be r equired to provide a brief background of your coaching experience. Things to keep in Mind :  Faculty and staff are able to coach or sp onsor a total of 2 sports or activitie s. If  you coach two sp orts you cannot do more. If you sponsor two activities you cannot do more. If you coach one sport you may also sponsor one activity
