Purpose StatementThere are many recent technological advances in imaging techniques which can be applied in current clinical practice. Main-tenance of certification requires continued review of essential imaging techniques in all areas of radiology, including body imaging.

Course DescriptionFor CT, emphasis will be placed on multi-detector helical CT (MDCT), high-resolu-tion chest CT and CT Angiography (CTA). State-of-the-Art MRI techniques to be dis-cussed include peripheral magnetic reso-nance angiography (MRA), cardiac imaging and dynamic imaging of the female pelvis. Practical applications of these techniques will be emphasized. There will be a focus session on CT and Ultrasound evaluation of acute abdominal and pelvic conditions, including trauma. The course will conclude with a symposium on new frontiers in body imaging during which cutting-edge techniques will be discussed. Topics to be included are the current status of CT/PET for oncologic imaging, CTA of coronary arteries, new techniques in Body MRI and MDCT for lung cancer screening.

Target AudienceThis course is designed for radiologists in academics or private practice.

Educational ObjectivesAfter attending this course, the participant should be able to:

• Apply applications of MDCT in the diag-nosis of abdominal and thoracic condi-tions, including trauma, inflammatory disorders and neoplasm

• Describe CT and ultrasound findings in acute abdominal and pelvic conditions

• Apply CT and MR techniques in the diag-nosis of renal, adrenal, pancreatic and hepatic neoplasms

• Apply CT, ultrasound and MRI tech-niques in the diagnosis of disorders of the female pelvis

• Apply MR techniques in the evaluation of musculoskeletal disorders, including infec-tion, marrow disorders and knee injuries

• Discuss cutting-edge techniques in car-diovascular imaging, including cardiac MRI, peripheral MRA and coronary CTA

• Assess current applications of CT/PET imaging in oncology
