President’s Report
Well, Hello All
Welcome to 2021. I hope you “All” had a wonderful Christmas
and brought in the New Year with a bang. I myself had a quite
enjoyable Christmas and New Year with friends and family.
Let’s “Hope!!” this year we can get back on track with our meetings and runs. I believe
by now you All know it’s the clubs 40th Anniversary we are trying to organize a dinner
and shirts we need an expression of interest for both which we’ve asked for on our
Facebook page to gauge numbers you don’t have to attend the dinner to buy a shirt.
Hope to see you at our January meeting on the 19th.
CLUB Meetings -- For at least the next couple of months we will be held at Capalaba
Football club as the COORPAROO RSL HAS SAID THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO
ACCOMMODATE US ON A TUESDAY EVENING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. You will have
to have dinner prior to coming or bring something with you BUT the bar is open. There
are many restaurants and takeaway options close by.
Tammy
Madam President
Welcome Back to All Our Members We are all looking forward to a fresh new 2021 hopefully Covid free in Qld. I hope that you all had a great Christmas break, although some of you may have worked. Also, hope you seen in the New Year all safe and not too many hang overs on New Year’s Day. 2021 a new beginning with a lot of promising things, like our clubs 40th Anniversary in March and fingers crossed in July we get to have an All Ford Day and I’ll probably be lucky and have to have my birthday out there again “Yeh!!”. Let’s hope that all our usual runs and extra events can still happen. We are still waiting to hear from Coorparoo RSL on when we can return, but at this stage our monthly club meetings will still be held at Capalaba Warriors Footy Club House until further notice. A Big thanks to the Bonney’s for organising this for the club.
Your Club Editor
Jo Taylor

The onus is on the person doing the run to check the rules. If you are putting something on the Facebook page you need to do it at least 48 hrs beforehand and you need to open the event to all club members. If it is a wedding, formal or funeral of a direct family member it is ok. Meeting closed 8.55 pm
Club Christmas Lights Run
Only a small turn out but still a good arvo
and everyone loved the pizzas. We met at
Pelican Park just over the bridge at
Redcliffe, we had a marquee which Peter
H organised so that we could sit under out
of the afternoon sun and just in case it
rained. Luckily not a cloud to be
seen, unfortunately a few of the
regulars were unable to make it
due to family, some working
or putting up a shed.
Thanks to those that attended & a Big Thank You
to Peter Harrington for organising it.

Happy New Year to Everyone
Combined Christmas Party Weekend Central & Far Nth Qld Destination Bowen By Mick Mason
The Mackay group met at Coningsby servo for the short run (2 hours) to Bowen at 9 am.
Barry & Carol – XY GT, Brad & Christine – FG 5th Anniversary, Garry & Craig – Sprint 8,
Brian & Andrea – XY GT, Rod Pacey – Sprint 6, Marty & Paige – Brock Fairlane, Shane &
Barbie – G6ET and Mick & Vicki – FG GT315. We were met in Bowen by Jacques & Elsie
– newly Opti-Coated Sprint 8 & Tina – Mitsubishi Triton?????? – we all offered to go back
home with her and bring the XB back to the pub but
she decided it would be better to wait till Jason got
home from his 3month Covid stay in WA.
The run was peaceful and uneventful, we got split up
in Prossie by a small contingent who couldn’t find
their way past the coffee shop but we all ended up in
the right place on time to meet the Townsville mob.
There was
18 of us
and 28 of
them, quite
a good turnout. A few photos at the beachfront then
up to the Grandview for some fun and frivolity.
We ran a
raffle with
a good
number of
prizes so
that quite
a few
took a
prize
home with
them. The
publican
was asked
to judge the
cars and found he couldn’t
decide between Bill & Liz’s
Reef XY GT and Brad’s
Black 5th Anniversary GT
so he coughed up a voucher
and both were awarded the top gong. (I reckon he’s colour blind
or maybe he just didn’t notice the red FG???)Lunch was served,
maybe a bit slowly but there were a lot of people there aside from
us. The meal was great as usual and everyone enjoyed
themselves. We finished the raffles after lunch and had a little
pass-the-parcel game for a bit of a laugh. Gradually as the
excitement began to die down people began the farewells and
headed for the cars for the 2-hour run north or south while a few of us remained behind for a
few beside the pool at the Harbour Lights van park with fish and chips for dinner and drove
home the next day. (*note to self: - don’t leave the car fridge on too long or the battery will
get too low and the computer will shut the a/c down and we’ll have to drive home with the
windows down!!!)

COMBINED FALCON GT OWNER'S CLUB CAR RUN TO BOWEN (Mackay area and Nth Qld area combined)
(6th December 2020)
After a few weeks of organizing, the
Mackay area GT Club members and the
North Qld area GT Club members
caught up with each other, for our
Christmas Break-up Club Car Run to
Bowen for lunch at the Grand View
Hotel. This combined Falcon GT
Owners Club car run was held on
Sunday, 6th December. North Qld
members left Townsville at 9.00am. It
would be a two-hour drive south, down
the main highway to meet up with the
Mackay crew. The Burdekin club
members were all waiting for us as we
drove through Ayr and with a total of
eleven cars (with some members already
there), we wasted no time to get to Bowen.
Townsville had arranged to meet up with
Mackay at Front Beach in Bowen just after
11.30am. Mackay has a total of ten cars which
made for excellent photographs with the ocean
in the background. The weather was hot and
sunny, so after all GT Club members caught up
with each other, we then proceeded to the
Grand View for lunch.
The Grandview
Hotel had an area
set aside just for the
GT Club which
made it a great
opportunity to
mingle with
everyone and have
get prepared for the
Trivia Quiz and other games that were organized, as well as
holding a raffle with gifts kindly donated from Burdekin
Communications. The Hotel host was asked to pick the 'Best Car
on Display' and showing great appreciation for the cars and the
GT Club for their attendance, also kindly donated a prize for the
'Second Best Car on Display'. Trophy was presented to Bill and
Liz for their Monza green XYGT while the Gift Voucher (courtesy from the Hotel) went to
Brad and Christine for their Silhouette FG GT (5th Anniversary).
Below are the members and their cars that travelled to Bowen from the Nth Qld group:
