RUMBLINGS AROUND THE FLYWHEEL
• We have two new Club Officers. Lance McKee is our new Vice-President replacing Mike Ebersole who
has been our VP for several years. Thanks Mike for all your service! Replacing Lance as a Board Mem-
ber at large is Susan Davis. Welcome aboard Susan!
• At our January General Meeting a $500 donation check was presented to Eric Walden from the Poore
Medical Clinic, and a $700 check presented to Lakin Minic of the Coconino Humane Association ($500
from our club and $200 from a private donation).
• Sean Evan’s brother is needing a Flagstaff garage for his 1958 2 axle Apache water tanker Fire Truck.
Truck is in fine condition, always housed, with only 12,000 miles! Can anyone help out? Please call
Sean.
• Long time former club members Steve and Sandy Hurt have relocated to New Mexico. Their new address
is : 617 Rio Hondo Road, NE, Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 87144. Phone: 408-340-0535.
• Robert Penhaker is planning a special field trip to his automotive shop in the near future to demonstrate the
latest electronic gadgetry that allows engine analysis and modification. Don’t miss this one.
NEWS FLASH Guess who’s classic is featured on the front cover of the 2018 Kaiser Willys Calendar?
You got it…..Alan & Alice St. Germain’s 1954 Red Willys Pick-Up Truck! Congratulations to Alan and Alice.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
Imagine a Club event involving food but where we weren't doing the eating! On November 10, club members
gathered at the Family Food Center Warehouse, where we packed/stuffed over 400 food boxes to be distributed
to the needy in the Flagstaff area. This was enough to support over a week and a half of their requirements. The
general feeling afterwards was that this was a far more satisfying “contribution” to the community than the I-40
road trash pickup, and that the club should continue with doing the food packing event in the future.

Lance was good at box making;
not so good with the tape
machines.
OK Richard…..you’re having
way too much fun making
boxes.
Just check out that pallet
of boxes. OK, Kathy….don’t let those
Charmin Bears see you with
all that TP

MEN’S HEALTH CLINIC
Held November 18 at the Flagstaff Physicians parking lot, nine club members
showed up with their classics to support the 2017 Men’s Health Clinic (and one
Tesla 4-door showed up for a short time). Weather was a bit brisk but not a major
issue. Club members participated in some of the free services, and all enjoyed the gratis doughnuts provided
by the clinic. Susan Davis from our club sponsored our involvement with the event.

OUR CLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY
Held December 3 on a Sunday, we had a fine turnout to enjoy some good food and conversations with fellow club
members at the Horsemens Lodge. Jackie and Shirley presented a “Flagstaff” quiz, and Bob reports that 93 pounds
of food were donated. And as usual, a mulitude of Toys for Tots was gathered.

FLAGSTAFF’S NORTHERN LITES PARADE
Alan St. Germain, Randy Travis, Ed Wiebe, Sallie Page, and Lance McKee all braved the not-so-cold
December 9th evening and decorated their cars with lights and ran in the 2017 Northern Lites Parade.
Flagstaff was still in a dry period so there was no snow or rain. No major incidents were reported this year
except Richard Frederico’s DeLoren would not start at home, so he and Kathy had to sit out the Parade. All in
all, a good time was had and the parade crowd enjoyed the cars as always.
