Four Things to Know About Health Care Reform - Pivotal Steps and Good News Did you breathe a sigh of relief when you learned the that the employer mandate under the Affordable Care Act was delayed until 2015? It’s time to begin work now so you are prepared when changes are made:

Consider Potential New Fees In 2015, if you have at least 50 full-time employees, you must provide health care coverage for substantially all of them or pay an annual penalty of $2,000 for each employee working at least 30 hours per week.

Understand the Cadillac Tax and How it Impacts YouThe Affordable Care Act includes a 40 percent tax on em-ployee benefits beginning in 2018 for any health plan that exceeds $10,200 for individuals and $27,000 for families.

Determine Eligibility for Small Business Tax CreditAre you a small employer, with fewer than 25 employees, earning $50,000 or less on average, wondering how you are going to cover health care costs? There is good news – you could be one a small businesses eligible for tax credits to help make coverage for employees more affordable.

Be Aware of required Employee Notices and Delivery DatesIf you are covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act, which is true for most if not all employers, you must send out a notice to all employees about the existence of the insurance exchanges. The first notice was due October 1, 2013, and for all employees starting thereafter, within two weeks of their start date.

The assessment provides a review of an organization’s workforce and health care benefits in order to analyze the impact of health care reform on the business and provide a customized checklist for implementing the necessary changes to ensure compliance.
