Disaster Relief training in FebruaryDisaster Relieft is a ministry-basedapproach to impacting people for theKingdom of God. The motto Serving
Christ in Crisis has two implications:
(1) We serve Christ to those persons who are victimsof disaster. (2) When we minister to persons inneed, we are serving Christ (Matthew 25:40) Thegoal of Disaster Relief is to provide some measure ofnormalcy for the victims of a disaster event andfocueses on five areas of ministry: chaplaincy, childcare, clean-up and recovery, communications andfeeding.
Everyone who wants to be involved in this ministrymust undergo Phase 1 training which includes anintroduction to the ministry as well as hands-ontraining in one of the five ministry areas. The FirstBaptist Church in Cairo will host this training onFebruary 9 from 9am to 4pm. Cost is $40 if receivedby February 1; $50 thereafter. The church is locatedat 505 North Broad Street.
