The foyer’s Cathedral ceilings ascend through three unobstructed sun-drenched levels at this Fieldson Tu-dor mansion.
Three carved mahogany baseboards from the former Plaza Hotel form the headboard above the living room’s wood burning fireplace.
The solid teak doors leading to the loggia are from an Argentinean hacienda circa 1886 — with original crystal-clear beveled glass panes and brass fixtures.
Step out into the sunroom and walk on origi-nal re-set flagstones and original oak floors, found throughout most of the house.
Even the Waldorf Astoria is remembered here, with a beveled glass mirror in one of the bathrooms.
French doors lead to a windowed loggia and wrap-around flagstone terrace.
The mansion, at 4530 Delafield Ave., has
been meticulously restored and updated and still retains its exquisite authenticity.
The light, airy banquet hall seats 12 effort-lessly. The cavernous open chef’s kitchen boasts original jade marble countertops and top-of-the-line maple cabinets.
