Janet Lockridge - Precise Operations Management

We are truly blessed to have such a great institution who not only talks the talk but also walks the walk and helps bring business leaders and MBE/WBE’s together. Thanks for all that you do.

Gordon Carlson - Alexander Mechanical Contractors

Out of all the events we attend both local and national, yours has been not only the most well-organized but also the most fruitful for minority owned business such as ours.

Michael Olyaee - iDataLytics

Cynthia Smith - Universal Construction

Universal Construction Company, Inc. had the privilege to remodel the Student Success Center above the Penn Valley Library for Metropolitan Community College. Thanks to the program director, we were made aware of the project and awarded the contract as a woman owned business. The MCC team was great to work with. Our business continues to be notified of new construction opportunities and I am looking forward to working with them again.

Metropolitan Community College embraces our mission of preparing students, serving communities and creating opportunities. Our supplier diversity initiatives ensure that we include diverse, local and small businesses in our procurement process.

The nation’s small-business sector is responsible for creating most the country’s new jobs. This stimulates economic growth in our community. When this happens, everybody wins. Our goal is, in every way possible, to have a diverse supplier base that mirrors our community.

MCC has increased opportunities for diverse businesses with training and education, mentoring, networking and other innovative development approaches. If you are a diverse, small or local business that is interested in providing services to MCC, I encourage you to join our registry of suppliers by following the vendor application process.

WHAT WE PROCURE

GOAL

GETTING STARTED

We believe that working with diverse suppliers supports our business objectives and strengthens the economy of our community.

One of our goals is to ensure that MCC purchasing efforts reflect the diversity of the greater Kansas City metropolitan area’s local business community.

Minority-women-owned, small and local firms that are interested in doing business with MCC should complete a vendor application form (mcckc.edu/do-business-with-mcc/purchasing/vendorinfo.aspx ) and class list indicating the products and/or services the company can supply along with a copy of certifications (if applicable). This information will be added to our vendor database. Our purchasing department should be notified of any changes in vendor profiles.
