chapter 1Sam came back with the uniform

and tells his familyabout America’s triumph against

England.

Sam and his father got in to the fight because his father was a loyalists who repsects toward

English government and the kings.

Tim, Sam’s brother, wants him to help him milking the cows and hears about the experiences in

Yale/

Chapter 1 -2Sam told his brother about the reason why he came back to house was the Brown brass, gun that his father used to have it.

At that night, Sam and his father had a big fight about the gun, and finally Sam went out.

Tim hears his father crying.

Chapter 2 - 1Tim doesn’t know he is either loyalists or Rebels.

Tim met Tom Warrups at church who are Indians and told him that his brother is staying in his hut.

Tim made an excuse to and met his brother with his girlfriend.

Betsy asked Tim whose side he is on, and persuaded him to be in Sam’s side.

Chapter 2 - 2Tim requested his brother to return the gun back to his father.

Sam asks Tim not to tell about anything about him.

Finally he begans to cry and left the hut.

Chapter 3 -1He thought that the war would bring out the armies and rebels but nothing happened before his father throws a man out of the tavern about his criticisim of England. Betsy asked him that she would give him a signal when his brother comes back. And Tim promised her not to tell anyone.

Tim studies hard about arithmetics to show his brother.

chapter 3 -2To show his brother his skills and improvements, he studies arithmetics hard.Betsy came to tavern every single day to listen to the conversation of loyalists.After the months past, Betsy finally gave him a sign that his brother was back.

Chapter 4- 1Chapter 4- 1One day when Tim was chopping a wood, he saw a patriots coming into his tavern. They wants his family to give guns. As soon as father told the soldiers that his son took it, they began to treaten him with their knives.With the feeling of the fear and surprise he ran up to the Tom Warrup’s house where his brother is hiding.

chapter 4 -2chapter 4 -2Tim takes the gun from his sleeping old brother but soon Sam wakes up and chases him.He explains about his father’s situation and they began to go down to their house.When they arrived in house, soldeirs had been already left and Sam and father faces each other. Sam runs away.

Chapter 5-1• In Reading, people could see the

effects of a war. (Ex. Shortage of foods)• One day Mr. Heron and Tom Warrups visited

Tim’s house and asked his father if he can used Tim as his messangers

• Eventhough Tim enthusiastically wants to do the job, his father rejects it and make him to go away.

Chapter 5-2• Tim and father had a fight. Father

got angry but didn’t shout at him because he remembered the time when Sam left the home.( He doesn’t wants to lose son)

• Tim decided to lie to his father and met Mr. Heron.

Chapter 6-1At the time when father sends Tim to deliver rum, Tim meets Mr. Heron and got message from him.While walking to the way to Fairfeld, he meets Betsy who teases him of the love letter.

Chapter 6-2Tim made a mistake about telling her that he had met Heron in this morning.Bestsy and Tim began to fight but finally Betsy gets over him and run away with the letter.Tim read the letter and it was said that as long as this letter is deserved, Tim is reliable.

Chapter 7-1•After failled his job, Tim tries to avoid

Mr. Heron.•Father told Tim that he would take

him to the town where he can get foods to run their tavern during winter.

Chapter 8They met their cousins and spend time discussing over the war.

They traded successfully and started to go back to their home.

Unfortunately, they meets a snowstorm and went back to Platt’s(cousin)house.

Chapter 9Because of the bad weather, Father went faster than Tim to scout the path ahead for the safety.

Tim feels noticed that his father was kidnapped by the cowboys and be brave.

He met cowboys and tricked them. He went back to his house with the wagons.

Chapter 10❖ Tim came back to his house and helped her mom

in tavern. ❖ One day, he hears the noise of British troops and

met many soldiers in his tavern.❖ On the way down to Dr. Hobbert’s house he

observes British entering to rebels house and killed Ned. He loses his sympathy in both Rebels and British.

Chapter 11❖ The wounded man seemed safe and he heard

about the the rebelion troops coming to Redding.❖ He found out sam and persuades him to come

back and tells the story about father being captured.

❖ From his stubborn brother, Tim suddenly feels like Sam equally.

Chapter 12 Tim’s family found out that Mr.Meeker is dead of disease.Sam came back to his home and told them to becareful of the cattles. He tolds Tim to kill them and hides somewhereWhile they’re talking they found out 4 cows are missing. As Sam when out to catch the thieves, he came back by tieing up and reported as a cattle thieve.

Chapter 13Tim went to proclaim Sam’s innocence to Colonel person and told his mom about the news.Sam was found guilty because of he had to be in Bett’s house. He was locked in cabin.Tim ran up to General and feel happy when they told him they might consider Sam’s case.

Chapter 14General refused about reconsidering Sam’s case.Tim took the gun and killed the guards and tried to escape with Sam, but Sam was not there.Tim attends the execution and shouting not to kill his brother.
