Dear All,

2018 was a fruitful and amazing year for IDPL

and we certainly ended it with a bang. We saw

our hard work resulting in several

achievements, for example, moved our

Novena lab into our new Royal Square facility

despite a very tight deadline, moved our

administrative section to a newly renovated 6th

level at Frontech Centre, working with new

partners to bring in new oncology genetic

markers and introducing the Gene Xpert

infectious diseases PCR panel in our Farrer Park

Hospital to improve turnaround time for our

doctors and patients, the successful acquisition

and merger of Meditest Switzerland into our

IDPL facility and lastly the sale of IDPL to

Pathology Asia Holdings which opens up many

doors for growth and expansion into the region.

I see a bright future in front of us and I believe

that we will continue to prosper in the new year

2019.

Let our strong teamwork, passion and

commitment to give our best continue to be

our Company’s winning formula. United we

stand, resilient we stay as we strive to achieve

our goal to provide excellence in healthcare

as we welcome another year of excitement.

Medical Director, Dr Carol Kwan on the 30th November 2018.

Dr Kwan had been an esteemed member of our IDPL Senior

Management Team with her over 30 years of experience. Her

dedication and contributions to the organization in the last 7

years have certainly been deeply felt and appreciated by all

who have worked with her.

Dr. Issam comes to us with over 30 years of experience in

diagnostic surgical pathology and cytology. His career as a

Consultant Pathologist started in hospitals in Syria, Kuwait,

United Arab Emirates and Singapore where he spent his last

12 years with SGH as a Senior Consultant before joining

IDPL. He is currently the VP of Singapore Society of

Cytology and had contributed many papers and publications

dealing with difficult diagnostics problems, such as nodular

and inflammatory thyroid disease, gastritis, breast and

thyroid FNA cytology, ophthalmic pathology and IgG4 related

disease. His current field of interest is in lung pathology.
