How Can JAN Help?

• Can provide accommodation ideas for individual students in the classroom and on the job;

• Can provide product information and vendors of that specific product;

• Can provide information about the ADA, Rehabilitation Act; and

• Can provide other resources that you might need.

What Can’t JAN Do?

• Can’t diagnose a disability;

• Can’t determine if an applicant is appropriate for Job Corps;

• Can’t determine if an accommodation request is reasonable; or

• Can’t review student records.

What Do You Need to Have Prior to Calling JAN?

• Know the applicant’s limitations and abilities;

• Know the requirements of the program(s) that the applicant is interested;

• Know educational and psychological evaluation information that was collected;

• Know other vocational programs that are available for the applicant if the one he/she is interested is not a good match; and

• Read All available information on the applicant.Very Important!
