    Bible: For our morning devotions we beganreading through The Story for Children

    and are going through the beginning stories

    in Genesis. For Bible time we continue to

    focus on Jesus life and his time as a child.

    Bible Memory: Psalm 100:1-3Due: 1/11

    Theme: Our themes these past two weeks

    were on Christmas and now winter. This

    week we read and wrote about polar bears

    and penguins. We learned about different

    types of penguins and then wrote letters to

    our penguin friends.

    SPECIAL INFO:

    January 22-25 is book week. Tuesday we

    have a special chapel with author Bonnie

    Siegrist. Wednesday Friday is a Christian

    bookstore book sale. Thursday is book

    character dress up day. More info is

    coming.

    REMINDERS:

    * You might want to check with your

    child if he/she needs new crayons.

    * We will keep going out for recess.

    Make sure your child has gloves/mittens

    and a hat.

    Jan. 11 End of 2nd semester

    Jan 17-22 Mrs. Morales subbing for meJan. 22-25 Book week

    De la Seora:I hope you all had a wonderful

    break and meaningful times together as

    families. I know it was a relaxing time

    for me!

    We will begin a new Language

    Arts Unit next week and will continue

    with a new one each week. We are

    looking forward to having Becky

    Morales (former Spanish teacher here

    at LG) come and provide extra help

    Tuesday-Thursday. Mrs. Morales will

    also be subbing for me on the 17th, 18th,

    and 22nd. My husband and I are

    celebrating our 15th anniversary and are

    going on quick vacation together. With

    living on a farm, winter is our easiest

    time to get away. Im excited for Mrs.

    Morales to get to know the class and

    interact more with them. I know theyll

    love her. Im even more excited for her

    continuing help with reading!

    Spelling words come from the letter and syllable combinations

    we are studying for the week. This coming week will be fand ch combinations. The f is pronounced the same as the

    f in English. The ch sounds just like the ch in English

    (think church) except it is considered as one letter in

    Spanish.
