Thanks to everyone that made our November meeting

a special one. We learned by our speaker, Kim

Brainard, that movement trumps sitting, talking

trumps listening, images trump words, writing

trumps reading, shorter trumps long, and different

trumps same. Our state president, Eileen Little,

joined us for our eventful meeting. Thanks for those members that

volunteered for a position in 2020-2022, As we know, we are still

seeking a president. I have enjoyed my almost four years. In order

for us to continue, it is important that someone takes the position.

Remember, we discussed two people could consider a co-president

position. We welcome our new member, Laura Young.

Merry Christmas!

The incoming Chapter President should

plan to attend the leadership training

7:00PM. Then Friday, June 12, 2020 their day would

Incoming Chapter Presidents would receive 10 ½

thinking that combining Leadership Seminar/

Incoming Chapter Presidents training with State

Convention would be more convenient to busy

The Downtown Marriott Hotel in Philadelphia was selected as our 2020

Convention Hotel.

The Philadelphia Marriott Downtown is situated in the heart of a vi-

brant downtown district just 15 minutes from Philadelphia Internation-

al Airport (PHL). A skywalk conveniently connects it to the local transit

station, Jefferson Station.

Tuesday’s opening session on July 7 will begin at 6 p.m. with the bienni-

al procession of the flags representing the many countries and cultures

of members in our Society. Welcomes delivered by such U.S. historical

personages as Ben Franklin and Betsy Ross will set the tone for a week

devoted to historical sights just outside the doors of the Marriott Down-

town Hotel, site of the convention. Shortly after 7 pm, the ticketed

event at the Reading Terminal Market directly across from the hotel’s

main entrance begins. You will be able to choose to eat from the many

food vendors. You will be entertained by local musicians and browse the

sales stalls. Tickets for the opening night event at the Reading Terminal

Market will be available for purchase on the convention registration

form, scheduled for posting on the DKG website by January 6. The hotel

room block will be available for reservations December 1.
