The conference was inaugurated by the auspicious hands of Dr. S. V. Sharma, Director, PPEG Group, ISRO, Bangalore. Dr. P. R. Bajaj, Director, GHRCE, Nagpur, Dr. P. B. Nagarnaik, Deputy Director and Dean Academics, GHRCE, Nagpur, Dr. U. S. Wankhede, Dean R & D, GHRCE, Nagpur, Dr. S.S. Salankar, Dean, Students Activity & Counseling, Head of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering department Dr. M. M. Khanapurkar, Deans & Heads of other departments were also present for the inaugural ceremony of the event. Prof. S. R. Dixit, Convener of the National Conference told that the objective of the National Conference was to bring together researchers, engineers, scientists, industry experts and academicians to exchange and share the challenges and new directions presented by technological innovations in educational settings. She conveyed that around 75 papers were received for the conference, among which 60 papers were selected, registered and 45 papers were presented. In the conference, the papers covering exploratory research, system modeling, newer technologies and case studies in the areas like 3G and 4G Communication services, Ad-hoc Networks, Optical Satellite and Space Communication, Microwave Engineering, Real-Time distributed Embedded systems, Signal and Image Processing, Reconfigurable Computing Systems, Telecommunication Technologies, NEMS/ MEMS Technologies were presented. Keynote was delivered by Dr. S. V. Sharma on the topic “Recent Advances in Information Technology and Satellite Communication”. Gaikwad Principal, BDCOE, Sevagram (Wardha) was invited for Expert Talk on the topic “Research Issues In Network- On- Chip Architecture : Holistic Approach” One day workshop on “Circuit And Device Simulation Using Silvaco Tools In Association with Micro Chitronics Systems, Lucknow” was organized in the National Conference on 24 th December 2014 for which 70 students enrolled their names. The expert tutor for the workshop was Mr. Shyam Dwivedi, Application Engineer, Micro Chitronics Systems, Lucknow. The workshop introduced Silvaco (ICCAD & TCAD) wherein device simulations were taught which included modern novel devices such as Finfet. Students were informed about the importance of novel devices in day to day life and the linking of advances in modern technology with that in the field of device modeling. On January 19, 2015 Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering organized career counseling seminar. It was enthusiastically attended by over 45 under graduate students of VI semester section C and faculty members. Speakers included alumni of Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Mr. Haren Dodke (2013 batch) Software trainee, Syntel, Pune. The objective of the seminar was to create awareness among the students regarding opportunities and challenges in deciding their career options. Academic Audit of Civil Engineering Department

Academic audit of teaching learning process of Even & Odd semester of 2014 was conducted on 1st & 2nd Jan 2015. External experts evaluated performance on parameters like quality of course material used by faculties, Quality of question papers, quality of TAE, student feedback, result analysis, faculty interaction and advanced topic. Dr. V. A. Mhaisalkar, Professor, VNIT, Nagpur was present as external expert. He evaluated subject files of UG and PG subjects and interacted with faculties. According to the criteria, markings were done and suggestions were given by Dr. V. A. Mhaisalkar.

Pre-registration seminar conducted for Ph.D. scholars in Civil Engg. for

Jan-2015 at GHRCE, Nagpur

G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur is approved research center for Higher Learning of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. To bring seriousness among the Research Scholars and to check efforts put in by the candidate for problem identification before registering for doctoral studies, GHRCE is conducting Pre-registration seminar.

Jan 2015 for Civil Engineering Department in Conference room. Mr. M. P. Bhorkar presented their research topic in front of experts. The experts suggested corrections in their title, objectives and methodology of work.

Fourth semester M.Tech VLSI students of GHRCE secured 1st and

2nd position in AVISHKAR-2015

GHRCE Students of fourth semester M.Tech VLSI Mr. Abhijeet Vilasrao Bhagat got 1st and Ms. Monali Madavi got 2nd prize in AVISHKAR-2015 intercollegiate research festival (stage II) hosted by Shri Mathuradas Mohota College Of Science, Nagpur held on 8th January 2015. The title for the projects are “Detection And Plotting Of Real Time Brain Waves” and “To Design And Implementation Of Wearable Devices For Foot Got Diabetic Person” respectively. These models are titled under category under V PG (Engineering and Technology). And they selected for stage III .

Competition AVISHKAR -14

Project titled “Design and Development Garlic Peeling Machine” got first Prize in University level AVISHKAR-2014 at Nagpur & Second Prize in the category of Agricultural and Animal Husbandry State Level Inter University Innovative project Competition at MAFSU, Nagpur which was held on 21st & 23rd January 2015. This Projectdeveloped by final year student Mr Ashish R. Bais, Mr. Pratik D. Khadode Mr. Akash N .Saraf, Mr. Ankit S. Gawande under the guidance of Prof. Nilesh Awate.

Department, GHRCE, Nagpur attended training program on

Management Capacity Enhancement at IIM Udaipur under TEQIP-II

Dr. Milind Khanapurkar, Professor and Head of the E & TC Department, GHRCE, Nagpur attended one week training program on Management Capacity Enhancement at IIM Udaipur (Rajasthan) during December 15-20, 2014 under TEQIP-II. The Training Program gave insight for enhancing the capacity of administering and managing the work in technical institutions in various domains like Project Planning and Scheduling, ERP and MIS , Value system, Leadership and quality of good leader, Curriculum development, Financial aspects and case studies on Balance sheets , profit loss account, inventory management etc. The program also provided information on library and information resources and its management with examples of few famous worldwide accepted libraries.

After attending the training program Dr. Khanapurkar made detailed presentation in the institute for faculties of institute on the inputs received in training program and also discussed for its feasibility.

Urmila Shrawankar CSE Department, GHRCE, Nagpur attended a workshop on High

Performance Computing (HPC) at SVNIT, Surat

Dr. Urmila Shrawankar, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, G H Raisoni College of Engg. (GHRCE), Nagpur has participated in a workshop on High Performance Computing (HPC) was organized by SVNIT, Surat during 24-26 January 2015. The workshop was focused on High Performance Computing, Parallel Programming Techniques, MPI, OpenMP, CUDA and Applications of HPC.

All the sessions were conducted by the eminent faculties from IITs and NITs and were very fruitful for understanding the concepts and design of high performance computing. This topic is related to UG and PG syllabus.

Nagpur.

'Research Promotion Workshop’ on "Introduction to Graph and Geometric Algorithms" was organized by Computer Science and Engineering department of VNIT, Nagpur in

collaboration with Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai during Jan 15- 17 Jan, 2015 at VNIT, Nagpur. Prof. Archana R. Raut and Prof. Deepti Theng from Computer Science & Engineering Department attended the workshop. This workshop focuses on algorithms and generic techniques for efficient organization and retrieval of data, modeling, understanding and solving graph and geometric problems. With this objective, graph and geometric theory and algorithms are presented by a distinguished panel of experienced speakers from IITs and industries.

Main topics covered in the workshop are Geometric Algorithms, Graph Algorithms, Graph Theory, Randomized Algorithms, Approximation Algorithms, Data Structures, Algorithmic Techniques, Computational Geometry, Combinatorial Geometry, Computer Graphics, Discrete Mathematics, Robotics etc.

Dr. Latesh Malik attended Digital Marketing Workshop

Dr. L.Malik, Dr. D.V Padole, Prof K.D. Jashi, Prof. A. Thomas attended “Workshop on Digital Marketing” on 28-29 January 2015. It was conducted by GHRAHE team and speaker was Nikhil Verma from Digital Vidya.

He discussed various sites for communication and for content sharing. He discussed various case studies where digital marketing played a vital role and business growth improved. Content sharing sites: filckr, slide share, you tube, dig. He told every faculty should have face book, twitter and linkdin profile and events should be posted on these to show our existence to outside world.

He has practically taken these sessions. Ask everyone to open account on twitter, face book and tweet to others and campaign site. From campaign sites he has shown various analytics. He also told tweet archivist and trendsmap.com. He has shown how to create advertisement and campaign. Various tools like Google Adwords, google analytics were demonstrated. Overal workshop was very fruitful to participants.

Computer science engineering of G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering has organized Industrial Visit of 4th Semester (Section B) students on 31st JANUARY 2015 at Persistent Systems. Total numbers of beneficiary were 72. Persistent Systems is software industry and work on various platforms. The main aim is to provide students a glimpse of the actual work situation and to understand the software industry environment and to gain some work experience.

Department of Civil Engg. Organized Site Visit to Ajani

Railway Station

Department of Civil Engineering of GHRCE, Nagpur has organized a site visit to Ajani Railway Station, Nagpur under the banner of Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) for sixth semester (Section A & B) on 3rd January 2015 for the course Structural Design-II. Total 86 students were present for visit with faculty Prof. T.J. Nikose , Prof. H.G. Sonkusare , Prof. P.B. Patil and Prof. B.J. Godboley. The students were able to understand the steel structural component and its uses in real world. Structural component like column, lacing, battening, foot over bridge, connections (bolted, riveted, welded), roof truss and steel sections were explained to the students by Mr. Burdkar, Technical Person (Ajani Railway Station). It was very beneficial visit for students to enhanced their knowledge regarding steel structure in the course Structural Design – II.

JAN 2015. The main aim is to provide students a glimpse of the actual work situation and to understand the industry environment and study the manufacturing of the product. Mr. HAQUE, Manager, has provided necessary information to students about automation system, instrument & related auxiliary equipment for product. Student explored product development phase such as design, implementation, assembly, installation, maintenance of automation system with manufacturing industries. Visit is organized by Department of Electronics Engineering, GHRCE, Nagpur. Prof. S.V.Bhalerao accompany to the students in the visit.

Plant under the banner of Association of Consulting Civil

Department of Civil Engineering of G. H. R. C. E., Nagpur has organized a site visit to Wastewater Treatment Plant, Bhandewadi , Nagpur under the banner of Association of Consulting for Civil Engineers (India) for sixth semester (Section B) on 24th January ,2015.The students were able to understand the wastewater treatment process and it’s working in the real life. All the wastewater treatment process like initial pumping of sewage, screening, primary treatment and secondary treatment and its disposal were explained to the students a plant Engineer. It was very beneficial visit for students and enhanced their knowledge regarding wastewater treatment processes in the subject Environmental Engineering-II. 63 students were present in this visit. Head of Department Dr.P.Y.Pawade was provided the necessary guidance. The site visit is executed by Prof. Isha P.Khedikar and Prof. M.P.Bhorkar Asst Prof. from Civil Engineering Department.

The main aim is to provide students a glimpse of the actual work situation and to understand the industry Design & Manufacturing of EPS Product and related Automation, to study the different EPS process standard, to get a first hand information about the EPS fabrication, manufacturing equipment and ISO quality procedure adopted in practice and to gain some work experience.
