President/CEO - Gold’s Gym International
(Wholly-owned subsidiary of TRT Holdings) October, 2008 - Present
Gold’s Gym International, the most recognized brand in the fitness industry,
has over 3.5 million members in 700 plus gyms located in 27 countries.
Was hired to turn underperforming Company around. Conducted a strategic
review of global operations, personnel, and performance metrics.
Immediately began to implement total recovery plan designed to positively
impact the strategic direction, vision, mission and profitability of the
company. Highlighted action plans and key results include:
• Generated a 30% profit increase in 2009 and implemented plans to
more than double profitability by 2012.
• Realigned the organizational structure to provide an effective and
efficient leadership team with proper focus on “positive member
experience and retention.”
• Instituted an attitude and focus on cost effectiveness in all areas of the
business. Was able to reduce ongoing expenses by over two milliondollars without impacting operations.
• Implemented a leading industry “Member Retention Program” that
will generate two million dollars in additional profits in 2009, with the
savings growing to over six million dollars by 2012.
• Working with franchisees and operations, identified global growth
opportunities, which will allow Company double their presence in the
international marketplace by 2015—significantly growing brand
recognition.
• Emphasized an attitude of accountability throughout the organizationwith an emphasis on making decisions at the lowest possible level,
creating an attitude of ownership.
• Secured a new strategic business partner to support plans for a 300%
increase in brand licensing revenue—a very profitable business
segment.

A privately owned business consulting company, focusing on corporate
turnarounds with emphasis on significant revenue and margin growth. Key
accomplishments include:
• Assisted a group of investors locate, purchase, and establish an
operating plan for a medium-sized medical device company.
• Served as President of an international 501C3 ministry.
Developed a new strategic direction, restructur ed the
organizational responsibilities, created new collateral materials,
and established a new fund-raising program to sustain the growth
of the ministry.
• Planned and coordinated the startup of a customer service and
personal skills training company. Also assisted in the writing and
publishing of a book to support the business.• Restructured a 20-year old freight brokerage company and sold
the company for more than twice the price the owner group was
expecting.
Co-Founder - Tecnol Medical Products 1978 - 2001
As co-founder and member of the executive management team, was
instrumental in growing the company from less than 10 employees,
operating in a 5,000 sq. ft. facility and selling to local hospitals in the DFW
market, to over 2,500 employees operating in one million plus sq. ft.
facilities and selling in over 52 countries. Was market share leader in all
major product offerings. Led effort for successful IPO in 1992 and sold the
company to a large international public company in 1999. Held several key
positions including:
Executive Vice President of Manufacturing OperationsResponsible for the start up and management of all manufacturing and
distribution systems, capital budgets, and o perations
Executive Vice President of Sales/Marketing for U.S.
Operations Developed a nation-wide sales organization and distribution system;
responsible for sales management, training, customer development,
marketing, media, and advertising support.
Executive Vice President of Business Development Managed the M&A activities and in a four-year period, purchased eleven
companies/product lines that supported strategic growth plans.
