The Hunger Games - 1:110:00 Introduction: no melody yet, the rhythm is set

by playing two sounds that are different; a violin that drags in a long growing beat and metal hitting against metal.

0:11: The melody comes in with guitar chords playing.0:29: Melody is still playing , rhythm has changed to

be a little faster, timbre has come in and distinguished the melody from the beginning note, texture is big with the violin playing while the guitar is playing the melody, harmony is going on with the violins and the guitar, form is being displayed with the violin and the guitar.

0:48: Melody has faded, rhythm got softer. 1:04: Texture has faded.

Listening GuideRue’s Farewell – 5:010:00: Melody is gradually entering by the violin; timbre is being excitingly

introduced very slowly with fades. 1:26: Melody gradually enters with the guitar playing the intro to the melody,

rhythm has speed up a little more, timbre with the violin and the guitar, texture with the soft violin and the guitar.

2:34: Melody is still growing, rhythm changes to begin to be slower, timbre comes in with a horn sound that sounds like a slow warning sound, texture again with the different sounds.

2:56: Melody is now being played by the violin, rhythm begins to fade to get slower and then builds strong, timbre is very gentle, texture violins playing harmoniously, texture is having you hear the quality and passion of the violins playing together to present sadness.

3:30: Melody begins to brighten, rhythm begins to speed up, timbre comes at you quick with the instruments that started the song coming back with the instruments that took over, and texture has great presence here by having great strength with all instruments,harmony presents itself peacefully but with sadness, form stays consistent.

4:08: Melody gets slower as a choir begins to sing in the background, rhythm gets gradually slower, timbre with the voices and with the heavy beat of the drums.

4:23: Melody has a scary build to signify that they are fed up all the heat and bullying, rhythm fades out completely, timbre begins to fade outwith the violin playing a terrifying sound, texture leaves too, harmony is represented by the sound of fear.

Listening GuideWhite Hart – 6:370:00: Melody comes in slowly, rhythm is entering slowly. 0:24: Melody comes in with the piano, rhythm is slow but is building;

timbre is greatly progressing with the softness yet hardness of the violins.

0:50: Melody comes with a soft violin; rhythm again is slow but is building.1:10: Melody speeds up, rhythm is building, timbre with violins playing

together and fading out, texture, harmony, form, dynamics, texture,

1:39: Melody gains more momentum by fading and coming back, texture hasn’t changed and form is consistent.

2:18: Melody comes in again but with patience as well as vigor, rhythm is fading in and out.

3:10: Melody slows down, rhythm remains consistent, and harmony stays the same level.

3:45: Melody builds with vigor, rhythm is speeding up, and texture is more noticeable.

4:20: Melody changes completely with an evil shrieking sound, rhythm immediately changes, timbre with the violins and the drums, harmony as the violins and drums play with and against each other, dynamics is represented well by the fight with the violin and the drums.

5:07: Melody builds even faster by faster drums and the cello, rhythm is consistent.

5:47: Melody stays put with the violins bringing the intensity, rhythm is slowly fading, and form is established however is also fading.

6:21: Melody fades out, rhythm fades out quickly, timbre fades out, harmony fades out, and texture fades out.
