All cab versions allow drivers of any stature to find their ideal driving position, thanks to an adjustable steering wheel and a pneumatic seat that adapts to driver weight, slides backwards and forwards and is adjustable for height and rakeAll functions are clearly displayed on the instrument panel, and all controls are plainly marked and easily accessible to ensure maximum driving safety. The controls for the decompression and hydraulic Intarder engine brakes, radio and cruise-control are ergonomically positioned where they can be operated without the driver needing to take his hands off the wheel. The electric window controls are mounted in the door armrest along with the demisting controls. The controls for the optional electric door mirrors are also mounted in the same practical position. The electronic digital tachgraph is located over the windscreen, along with the audio system. Audio controls are duplicated on the steering wheel with stations displayed on the instrument panel to minimise driver distraction.

Night zoneOne or two bunks provide superb comfort on the Trakker Active Time standard and medium roof versions.

The bunk bed consists of three lift-up sections. The central section is 82 cm wide and turns into a practical storage compartment.

The cab floor is covered with a special new material that offers improved wear resist-ance and easier cleaning. The dashboard is finished in soft-touch, scratch-proof material. The cab interior stands out for its functionality and spaciousness. Practical storage compartments are provided in the roof and others in the doors. Trakker really does have room for everything.

Cursor engine boasts a 6 cylinder in-line configura-tion with overhead cams and rear camshaft drive for compact dimensions, fewer components and – most importantly – high

structural rigidity thanks to a monobloc head and a lower cylinder block that inte-grates all seven crank journals in the one part. VGTThe 440 HP Cursor 13 engine of the Trakker Active Time and Active Day features the VGT (variable geometry turbine) which is currently the only one on the market suitable for heavy road transport. VGT turbine technology makes a major contribution to engine performance and offers superb response and better accel-eration.An electronic control unit modifies the geometry of the turbine to suit engine speed. Coaxial movement of the turbine impeller controls the volume of incom-ing exhaust gases to maintain constant

speed and increase output pressure, giving better engine power and torque.VGT technology also improves the performance of the Iveco Turbo Brake (ITB).

CEBCombined Engine Brake (fitted to the 380 and 420 HP Cursor 13) is a power-ful engine brake system that combines the effects of decompression and brake torque.A butterfly valve on the exhaust manifold creates back pressure to reduce engine speed and boost engine braking.

EUROTRONIC AUTOMATED TRANSMISSIONSIn addition to a choice of conventional manual transmissions, Trakker is also avail-able with high-tech Eurotronic automated transmission and with a steering column gearshift lever for the ultimate in driving ergonomics. These transmissions can be used in fully automatic or semi-automatic mode to suit driving conditions.The Eurotronic ZF 16 speed transmissions incorporate electronic clutch control for

superb driving comfort. Electronic clutch control also delivers various other advan-tages: automatic logic selects the most economical gear ratio, protects the gearbox against overspeed and reduces clutch wear, fuel consumption and noise. Eurotronic transmissions ensure that the engine always operates within its most economical speed range. By improving safety and driveability, they also let you concentrate fully on the road ahead.

MECHANICAL TRANSMISSIONSThe transmissions of Trakker Active Time and Active Day all offer superb ergonomics and high performance. Thanks to their innovative and flexible technical characteris-tics, these transmissions let you choose the most suitable solution for your needs and for those of your vehicle.Trakker can be equipped with 16 speed manual gearboxes. The revolutionary 16

speed Ecosplit 4 ZF gearbox incorporates a servo-shift for faster, more precise gear selection and a more relaxed, safer drive.Manual transmissions are perfect for typical Trakker missions, are extremely reliable, and help raise the productivity and efficiency of your vehicle while lowering its maintenance costs.


The gear shift lever is integrated in the steering column for better ergonomics and greater safety. The drive (D), rever-se (R) and neutral (N) selection buttons are located on the dashboard.

Trakker’s truly unstoppable nature proves itself whenever you come to extreme slopes with a full load. Conditions like this present a tough test indeed, but Trakker always comes out on top.The decompression brake of Trakker’s Cursor engines, combined with its variable geometry turbine or CEB (Combined Engine Brake) limits vehicle speed and

reduces the need to use the service brakes, thus minimising brake wear. Trakker is equipped with integrated control of all its braking systems. Rear wheel drive versions are fitted with front disc brakes that are electronically controlled by the ABS and EBL systems (to optimise braking force according to load). ASR (anti-slip regula-tion) is also available on request.

The integrated brake control system uses special logic to regulate braking: the engine brake and ZF INTARDER are activated automatically to minimise service brake wear and to reduce speed to suit driving conditions.This highly efficient braking system is backed up by rigid front axles and by a range of rear axles offering different ratios

to provide the perfect configuration for all site transport needs.High ratios are available for easier missions and low ratios for tougher missions and steeper slopes.

The service braking system uses drum or disc brakes on the front axles and duo-duplex drum brakes on the rear axles. All wheel drive versions are fitted with duo-duplex drum brakes on all wheels.


Trakker is equipped with a revolutionary, third generation INTARDER that delivers excellent engine braking. The unit is particularly light to reduce overall weight and optimise fuel consumption.

Robustness and reliability have always been one of the strengths of all Iveco vehicles. These characteristics are particularly well developed on Trakker and allow to over-come all types of obstacles.The Trakker chassis is made from U section beams in high strength steel (FeE490), in a choice of two thicknesses.

This makes the Trakker chassis ideal for all types of terrain and load, even the most challenging. Trakker also features a choice of particularly robust suspension systems. Customers can choose between parabolic and semi-elliptical mechanical suspensions.
