A highlight each month for our Thriving Residents, is participating

in the Watermark University classes that helps them both physically

and mentally. October brings fall weather and also marks the

beginning of the flu season! We strive to help bring healthy

knowledge to our residents, so join Nurse Tracy on Wednesday,

October 17, with her health presentation about Flu and Pneumonia.

Also, join Katie, owner of Achieve Footwear, as she shares her

knowledge of Foot Care needs on Tuesday, October 23.

are chasing away any autumn

blues with our THRIVING!

annual Oktoberfest, on

Tuesday, October 2nd, from

2:00-3:00pm. You are all

invited and we look forward to seeing you there and THRIVING! in

your lederhosen and drinking bier, while dancing to the tunes of

the Die Musikmeisters German Band! We also have our annual

event for our little goblins to THRIVE!! Halloween at The

Fountains! Please invite all your goblins, witches and warlocks to

join us on Friday, October 26th, from 6:30-8:00pm, for our not too

scary, Halloween Party! There will be trick-or-treating, spooky

tunes with a DJ, dancing, games and refreshments. We look forward

to seeing everyone there and looking scary!

Path to Well-Being

Holy Cow, what a perfect day spent with one of our other Fountains

Community from Kalamazoo, Michigan. in the City of Chicago! We started

the day taking the train into the City, followed by a taxi ride to the World's

Famous Harry Caray's Restaurant! The food was delicious, The Memorabilia

all over was fascinating to look at and seeing the Residents from the 2

Communities conversing, as if they knew each other forever, was simply

amazing! After lunch we went on the Wendella Architectural Boat Tour,

along the Chicago River. The history was so interesting that even some of

the Residents that lived in Chicago learned so much from the boat ride! We

then had to say goodbye to our "new friends" from Kalamazoo and head

back to the train station. As we were leaving the City, the whole train ride

back home, the Residents kept sharing how much fun they had!
