Membership

For complete membership information, refer to the Membership Brochure or contact McCreary Powers, membership chair. 1. It is the responsibility of the main sponsoring member to organize the application and see it

through to completion. Please be thorough. Many applicants are needlessly delayed because a sponsor has neglected only one portion necessary for a wholly completed application.

2. Any member who desires to be a main sponsor for a new family for membership may obtain a

membership packet and application on the Tennaqua website in the members' section or may call the membership chairperson for a hard-copy folder. Please notify the membership chairperson when a membership packet is given.

3. The contacting member becomes the main sponsor and is responsible for writing a letter of

recommendation and securing one additional detailed meaningful letter of reference from another Tennaqua member. Only equity members may sponsor new members.

4. The completed file, consisting of the application, family photo, check for $100.00 made payable to

Tennaqua and the two reference letters should be forwarded to the membership chairperson as soon as possible.

5. The order of acceptance of new members (waiting list) is established by the date the completed

application package is returned to the membership chairperson. 6. The main sponsor is responsible for introducing the applicants to at least one Board member and

one membership committee member prior to their acceptance for membership. It is suggested this be done with a small cocktail party or coffee. The purpose is to acquaint the new members with Board members and learn more about the Club.

7. The completed application package, upon receipt by the membership chairperson, will be

reviewed by at least three members of the membership committee and forwarded to the Board of Directors for approval.

8. The completion of this application does not necessarily mean acceptance into the Club. 9. The sponsors of a new family are expected to help acclimate the new family to the Club (make

introductions, attend parties/functions together, etc.). It is important to make sure that the new family understands how Tennaqua works, whom to contact with questions, and that they feel welcome and happy at the Club.
