    Term 3, Week 5

Congratulations to the students who were noticed by our school leaders demonstrating our school values of respect, care and safety.

We continue to maintain our vigilance in ensuring that our school is a healthy and safe place to be. Thank you to the parents who have kept children at home who are unwell.

COVID Update regarding school activities and school site usage: • Where possible, students will stay within their relevant cohort group. • Inter school activities must remain within the local community or zone. • Only providers that are essential to the delivery of curriculum can continue to provide services and programs until further notice. • Parents/carers and other non-essential visitors are not allowed on the school site.

Narooma High School teachers visited on Wednesday as a part of the Year 6 Transition program. The students participated in a mini English lesson as well as a STEM lesson using the VR devices to take a virtual tour of the school. Current restrictions have certainly had everyone thinking ‘outside the square’ for innovative ways in which to modify programs so that our children do not miss valuable experiences.

Congratulations to Christina Potts for organising such an educational and scientifically stimulating experience for our children to participate in. The National Science Week interactive educational walk was a wonderful experience and day out for all the children at Tilba school. Thank you!

Welcome to Mr Sam Hodge. Mr Hodge is completing his final practicum experience with the University of Wollongong. He is teaching the Barranguba class and will be with us until the 18th September. Our PBL focus next week is: Listening with care and purpose. • We enjoyed writing and illustrating our own comics using the techniques and strategies learned from the Littlescribes Writing Festival workshop. Everyone did a fantastic job!

    We enjoyed

    doing

    dice-roll multiplication outside this week!

The Science Week excursion was an innovative way to investigate the local organisations and their contributions to sustaining the marine environment.

    RIVER OF ART FESTIVAL

    Sept 18 -26

The River of Arts is an Annual Festival to celebrate the artists of the Far South Coast, Durras to Bermagui. Riverofart.com.au.

With a tumultuous 10 months behind us and the lingering effects of COVID virus, a few of us thought it is was important to keep a River of Art presence going in the southern areas of the River of Art catchment.

We are now looking for artists to display their work at local venues. Tilba Winery is allowing artists to exhibit free of charge, and we a paying a nominal amount for Tilba Small Hall. We are still negotiating using the barn of the Dromedary Hotel, free of charge, during the week. We are not charging commission, if entrants would like to contribute to the hire of the hall, we are happy to accept this but that is purely voluntary. Any money we receive from donations above the cost of hall hire will be donated to the hall for their maintenance fund.

If you wish to display your work, please complete the exhibit form or simply send your details to:

    [email protected]

For all enquires please call Kate: 0407 413 139

Exhibition locations for the River of Art Festival

    • Tilba Winery

    • Tilba Small Hall

While the local produce market is on some works moved to the rear barn of the Dromedary Hotel (still to be negotiated)

Please complete entry form or email me with the details.

If you could attach photos of the work that would be great.
