Derryn Hill–Kingray’s technical sales manager– covered all aspects of the newly introduced Kingray Headend system, from design concept through to installation and the programming/set up procedure.

■The professional series will replace the "AP" range of modulators ■Due to the nature of digital TV and due to channel stacking, many of these systems will need to be replaced before the switch off (at the latest by 2013!)

The Professional Series head-end commonly consists of: ■A channel processor converter to digitally provide a great TV signal ■VSB modulators to inject, say, PayTV into the one TV system. VSB allows adjacent channel operation – which is important for the digital switch off
