This Weekend Friday Night Bar, open from 6.00 till 10:00pm The Harken Finance Member draw gives members the chance to win money just for attending the club on Friday night. This week, the jackpot is $350 dollars. If you are not at the club to collect your prize, the money will jackpot each week by $50 until the total reaches $600.
Join us at the club Friday night for the chance to win. The weekly member draw will be drawn by 7:00 pm.
Secret Harbour Gold, proudly sponsored by the Hannah Family This Saturday, the 10th of December, the Secret Harbour Gold is on, with marshalling at 7am for a 7:30am start.
This event is open to Under 14’s and up who actively patrol at Secret Harbour. You can compete either as an individual, duo or team of 4. The event includes a 1km swim, 2km board, 2km run and a 4km ski, which is for Under 19’s and above, optional for Under 17’s. Club comp cap and fluro rashie must be worn.
There is prizes up for grabs, thanks to the Hannah Family, with bacon and egg burgers and presentations after the event.
Bronze Assessment Good luck to our Secret Harbour members who are completing their bronze assessment this Saturday.
Nippers Remember to bring a towel, water, nipper cap, sun screen and a sun hat. The BBQ will be open after nippers for a sausage/hamburger.
The Board of Management and Cadets are on the Nipper BBQ Roster this Sunday. Skills Maintenance this Sunday This Sunday there is a skills maintenance session for all awards. Please see further in the newsletter for information.
Nipper Ocean Series Round 3 – Sunday 11th of December 2016 Good luck to all our nippers competing at Mullaloo beach this weekend, wear your club colours with pride!
Club Sundeck Bar will be open from 11:00 am this Sunday Travis Green will be providing live music from 1:00pm.

This weekend: Saturday - The Secret Harbour Gold - it’s an awesome event so get together and put in a team or go in it alone. After, see me to grab a board and hang around and watch our newest bronzies as they complete their Wet Assessment from 10 – 12:30ish. Good luck to them.
Sunday - We have all the normal activities. Bec is after some assistance with Age managing/water safety and the BBQ. There is a junior carnival in the City on Sunday. So if you can assist, can you please meet up in the wet training area at 8:45 (after the club swim at 8:30) so that Bec can give us some jobs.
Next weekend: Saturday 17th of December - We are going on a Crusaders outing to Surfcom, City Beach, Mettam’s Pool (near Trigg) and Rous Head to visit the Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter, Jessica Williams will be in the chopper that day. A bus is planned for the day, and will be looking at leaving the surf club at 8am, returning at approximately 2pm.
Sunday – It is the Christmas windup with lots going on. We have the election of our Junior Club Captains. Bec is looking for some help to set up and also assist with running some of the activities both during and after nippers - the bouncy castle from 11-2pm.

Junior Club Captain Nominations To all the Under 15’s – Under 19’s who are interested in becoming Junior Club Captain, voting is on the 18th December before the start of nippers.
If you are interested in applying, please email your CV to [email protected] before the 14th of December, or respond via the club app on the event.
To be elected as Junior Club Captain, the following criteria’s must be met:
(i) Hold a current award, SRC/Bronze;
(ii) Be a senior cadet member (Under15 – Under19);
(iii) Actively contribute to patrol;
(iv) Be a good role model.
Nipper Christmas Party The 18th December 2016 This will be our last nipper day before surf club breaks up over the Christmas period.
Nippers is on as usual, with the Christmas party commencing afterwards at 11:00am till 2:00pm.
Girls are to bring a plate of sweet food, and boys are to bring a plate of savoury food to share with the age group.
There is bouncy castle for the kids, lollipops and drinks provided, with a special visit from Santa on the Jet Ski!
Nipper Recommencement After the Christmas/New Year break, Nippers comes back the 8th January 2017.
Cadet Camp Under 14’s – Under 19’s Our annual camp is booked! It’s at Busselton on the edge of Geographe Bay from the 8-10 April 2017. Patrolling members can make use of the closed Secret Harbour SLSC Patrolling Members facebook group to find subs if you can’t make your patrol. Patrol Uniforms The club has received new stocks of patrolling uniforms from SLSWA this week. To obtain replacement uniforms, the office requires your old uniform to be returned please. If you require a new uniform, please drop into the office during open hours.
Abalone Patrol Update Due to the next abalone falling on Sunday the 1st January 2017, it has been moved to the following Sunday, 8th January.
Volunteer Patrols Over the Christmas/New Year period, there are volunteer patrols on Christmas day (25th of Dec), the 27th of Dec and New Years Day (1st of Jan). Even if you can only volunteer a few hours, that would be fantastic. Thank you.

Member of the Month Congratulations to Sarah Hull who was awarded Celebrations Homes Member of the Month. Sarah was recognised for her efforts in organising the Beach Safe Appeal for the club, which helped raised vital funds for the club. She was also recognised for her efforts organising the Quiz Night last month for the club. Sarah was awarded $50 on her club card. Well done Sarah Hull. Beach Safe Appeal Thank you to all the people who have volunteered and been involved with raising vital funds for the club in the Shake-A-Tin event. So far, we have raised $2,500. March Past Team The Secret Harbour March Past team is hosting a fundraising event on February the 9th 2017 at 6:30pm for the screening of the new movie ’50 Shades Darker’.
This event is adults only. It is $25 per ticket, with a glass of champagne included on arrival. Limited seats available.
