Our students participated in District Judo Championship held from July 26-29, 2019 and brought laurel to the school by winning in different categories.

Our school Boys and Girls volleyball team participated in District volleyball held from July 26-29, 2019 and bagged 2nd Position in each category.

CAMpuS EVENT

SALWAN HEALTH AND HOLISTIC CARE CENTRE

Salwan Health & Holistic Care Centre was proudly inaugurated by Salwan Education Trust in JJ Colony Inderpuri, New Delhi on 6th July 2019. The inauguration was done by Chairman Emeritus Shri Shiv Dutt Salwan ji. Maj. Gen. J.K. Kapoor inaugurated the block for research named after him. The event was attended by Trust Chairman Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan, CEO Maj. Gen. Masaldan, all SET officials and Salwan schools Directors, Principals and Local Councillors and other dignitaries. The research centre intends to work for the benefit and upliftment of health issues. The objective is to lead the residents towards a healthy lifestyle. Besides this, a Charitable Homeopathic clinic as well as Yoga centre for alternate healing methods has also been inaugurated.

FATHERS’ DAY CELEBRATIONS

Fathers’ Day was celebrated for the fathers of classes Pre Nursery and Nursery on 6th July 2019 to celebrate the precious bond. All the fathers participated very enthusiastically in different activities planned for them. To add on to the event, they were requested to write one good quality on a stone that they wanted their child to imbibe for which he/she would be cherished and adored for lifetime. They also appreciated the efforts of school for this unique idea of involving them in such celebrations. They shared that such events help them to know their children better and also help them to nurture their relationship further.

STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTION

Keeping in mind the democratic and transparent system of electing leaders, the school heldpolling for the Student Council 2019-2020 on 8th July, 2019. The students of class V participated enthusiastically in the process and cast their votes for the prospective Jr. Head Boy and Jr. Head Girl.

BLUE COLOUR DAY

Blue is the colour of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability. It also symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence and truth. The students of Pre-primary came dressed in different shades of Blue to celebrate Blue Colour Day on Friday, 12th July 2019. They carried their favourite blue colour objects and spoke about them. Children were shown a PPT depicting different shades of blue. They also enjoyed various fun filled activities in their classroom and went back home merrily with their blue takeaways.

SCHOLAR BADGE CEREMONY

Salwan Public School, Gurugram felicitated the students of Class X who achieved above 90% in 2018-19 Board Examinations on 23 July 2019. The school awarded the meritorious students with the Scholar Badges and certificates for their commendable performance. The special assembly commenced with the mellifluous prayer. The Principal, Ms. Rashmi Malik, the Vice Principal, Dr. Sunita Jakhar and the Headmistress, Ms. Kumud Aneja felicitated the achievers and congratulated them. The Principal applauded the efforts of the students for their splendid achievements in academics and added that every student should strive to receive the scholar badge in the coming years. The speech motivated and encouraged the students to aspire for success in academics.

FELICITATION CEREMONY

On the glorious morning of Thursday, 25th July, a Felicitation Ceremony was held in our school to cherish the commendable performance of our students in the board examinations for the session 2018-19, in the gracious presence of Honourable Mr. Sushil Dutt Salwan, Chairman SET and Mr. Paramjeet Khanna, Secretary SET and Major General Dr. R.N. Masaldan, CEO SET. The programme commenced with the auspicious lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by Ganesh Vandana. The audience was spell-bound by an inspiring contemporary dance performance on a rendition of the poem 'Koshish karne waalon ki haar nahi hoti' by Harivansh Rai Bachchan. It was a moment of pride for every member of Salwan Public School, Gurugram to witness the felicitation of esteemed Principal, Ms. Rashmi Malik by Mr. Sushil Dutt Salwan and Mr. Paramjeet Khanna for her profound contributions as the head of the Institution for the exceptional results of our students.

The august moments were followed by an inspirational speech by Mr. Sushil Dutt Salwan, encouraging students to uphold the remarkable legacy of Salwan and to nurture and hone our fundamental values which set us apart, even in changing times. Mr. Paramjeet Khanna also addressed the gathering, emphasizing on continuing our streak of noteworthy performance, and setting even higher bars of excellence for the generations to come in the Salwan family. The program concluded with the words of gratitude by the respected Principal.

HEALTHY TIFFIN ACTIVITY

The importance of health can never be overrated. Health is the actual wealth that a person can retain. Students being the future generation need to realize the importance of staying healthy and fit. In our constant endeavour to give our students the best, a workshop on Balanced Diet was conducted for the students of Classes III-V, following which Healthy Tiffin Activity was conducted on 25th July 2019. The students were encouraged to sit together and relish nutritious food with their classmates. The activity not only provided a platform to students to develop healthy eating habits but also build communal harmony as nothing holds as better than food.

KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS

Salwan Public School, Gurugram hosted a special assembly on ‘Vijay Diwas’ in honour of the brave martyrs of the Kargil War, who laid down their lives in the service of the nation on 26th July 1999. The Principal along with the Vice-Principal, Headmistress and the students paid homage to the fallen, followed by hoisting of the National Flag and the National Anthem. The students were motivated by the Principal to follow discipline in their lives and to 'love thy country'. The programme concluded with a band presentation by the students that filled the air with valour and patriotism.

Motivational Talk by Mr. Ravi Kalra

A ‘Motivational Talk’ for the students of class X was organized on 26 July 2019. The Guest Speaker was Mr. Ravi Kalra, CEO, Earth Saviour Foundation, Gurugram. He was accorded a green welcome by the Principal, Ms. Rashmi Malik.

The main objective of the talk was to inculcate the values of compassion, empathy and humanity amongst the students. He shared some anecdotes from his life which were heart-wrenching and stirring. His dedication and involvement in serving the less privileged people inspired and motivated the students to give back to the society. The talk was engaging and enlightening and the students pledged to take care of their parents and assured to lend a helping hand to the needy and under privileged of the society. The session concluded with an interaction between the guest speaker and the students. Mr. Kalra shared his profound knowledge in various fields and answered all the questions of the young learners. The Principal thanked the speaker for sensitizing the students about the positive values like helping the needy and the society in order to build a stronger and healthier tomorrow.

CLASS ASSEMbLIES

CLASSES IV & V

Keeping up with the theme of the month ‘Managing Emotions’, a Special Assembly was conducted by the students of classes IV & V. Through a role play, students tried to explain the importance of redirecting emotional outburst. The day commenced with the thought of the day, word of the day followed by National, International, Sports, City and School News. July being the month of birth anniversary of the renowned Indian author, Munshi Premchand Ji, students spoke about the writer and gave a brief review of his famous book, ‘Pariksha’. They also apprised the audience about the festival ‘Guru Purnima’. The audience was left mesmerized with the dance presentation on ‘Happiness’, where the children expressed different types of emotions through their performance. The assembly concluded with the song on ‘Feelings’. Students were also felicitated for their outstanding performances in NSO and Abacus by respected Principal and Headmistress ma’am.

CLASS PRE NURSERY - A

The theme for the Class Assembly by the students of Pre-Nursery 'A' was ‘Seasons’. All the students came nicely dressed up. They sang the prayer, recited the rhymes related to seasons and also danced on the songs related to the same. The students also carried the beautiful props. Later they were told about the significance of ‘Kargil Diwas’. They melodiously sang the song 'Nanna Munna Rahi Hun.....' and the assembly was concluded with the slogan ‘Jai Hind’.

MY GREAT UNIVERSE

My great universe is as mesmerizing as our anthem’s famous verse, The stars glisten in the dark sky above, yet not a single moment sunk in its love. Waking up in the morning, only to miss the glow of the night, Wondering with all my might, if anything could beat its sight.

Countless nights spent connecting the dots painted on the black canvas, With every picture I made, was a story of my efforts. Dreaming in joy, if I would ever become such a glorious star , Or whether all my dreams were just bizarre.

I want to be the shining star that guides the way, I want to be the star, that is here to stay. The stars were just like a speckle in the vast sky, Who knew what mysteries lay, in the world up so high? How many planets live with a story yet to unfold? What if they become a story that’s never told.

One day I’m going to discover something, far greater than a constellation, The universe will be my mystery to uncover and its story will become a sensation. My great universe is as mesmerizing as our anthem’s famous verse.
