EditorialWe have been around 20 countries in many regions

We have been able to perform the Eidul Adha which is celebrated all around the world by the Ummah with great enthusiasm and joy, along with our orga-nizations in 20 countries by conveying what we have been trusted by you to the students, the ill persons, the elderly people, the orphans, the needy and the deprived ones, in brief those who were eligible for it, elhamdulillah.

Allah made us success to reach thousands of people in 2012 Kurbani orga-nization. While we feel the pleasure of having fulfilled with outmost care this goodness, the duty of serving and being means, we have hoped to be the ones as mentioned in the following Hadith;

“Whoever directs one to do goodness is like doing it himself” (Tırmizi, knowledge, 14)

The patience in Syria stretching out to its third year

In Syria the Intifada which turned out to be a spiritual struggle against the terrorizing regime, is being watched indifferently by the exploiting world as if watching a drama. This honorable struggle is definitely not the first or the last scene where the rights of Muslims of Ahl al Sunnah have been seized and violated. The Muslims who were oppressed in their own lands by this sort of uncomparable cruelties like in Syria are trying to overcome these days with patience by taking refuge in Him for the trials coming from Him.

“And we shall surely test you with some of fear and hunger and loss in riches and lives and fruits; and bear glad tidings to the patient ones.” The Holy Qur’an, Surah Al Baqarah, Chpt.2 Verse 155.

Your increasing supports for the campaign on “Let not die the brotherhood in Syria”, and the fact that we are just one out of few aid agencies which can go directly inside Syria to give the aid right to the needy, is making us to feel our responsibility of highest level.

Along with the ability of continuing our mission in spite of the bombarding in Syria, from Atma to Kah, from Idlib to Haleppo, form Hama to Lazkiye and Sham (Damascus) through your financial and material supports we are fee-ling the pleasure of representing this spiritual brotherhood through our tent madrasah we have set up, for up to 300 students and or tent masjeeds we are able to pray together with hundreds of brothers at the same time.

“Who is he that will lend Allah a goodly loan, so that He may multiply it for him? And his will be an honorable reward.” The Holy Qur’an, Chpt.57, Surah Al Hadid, Verse11.

Heejrah Heejrah is one of the most important milestones in worshiping the only one Allah on earth, i.e. in the struggle for the Tawheed (unifying Allah).

Heejrah is not a simple sort of immigration. It is a bridge connecting the ends in the struggle for Tawheed, it is the Sırat (the path), an escape to Allah.

Heejrah is the door opening up to the Madinah of Eman (faith). Whoever has no Eman or has done not for Eman is not considered as Heejrah. It could only be an escape under the name of Heejrah or an escape from Heejrah.

Heejrah is not also an escape from torture. A Mu’min (believer) should always within Heejrah. The Hadith of the Messenger of Allah saying that; “The immigrant is the one who flees from sin, rebellion and evil deeds” signifies that Heejrah is continuous i.e. it is a continuous returning to Allah on the spiritual plane.

In the Qur’an with the expression; ‘flee to Allah’ this sort of Heejrah is commanded.

The Heejraah done by Ashab-ı Kehf (the people of the Cave) was the sort of Heejrah to preserve the Eman.

They had two options: either to go back to shirk (associating partners with Allah the One and only) and die or to immigrate. They have chosen to immigrate. And Allah has poured down onto them His mercy, saving them from the cruelty of their people and setting them an example other nations thus ma-king their reputation immortal.

As for us, alas! At least let us do Heejrah by changing the room where TV is there, into another place.

Pharaoh …. Karun… Haman… The triple of Kufr

Those three personalities in that triple signify the basic elements of hu-man character claiming for the divinity. Pharaoh is the symbol of power, arrogance and cruelty trying all sorts of ways in order to get the wealth let it be hanging, chopping heads, putting into pri-sons to get rotten there, whomsoever he wants, even slaughtering the children. Karun is the one who possess the wealth. What is most important for him is to earn, no matter where it comes or where it goes. He earns by poisoning human beings, he earns out of the sweats of others through deceiving, conning them. Karun is hand in hand with Pharaoh, supporting him with his wealth since the future of his wealth is in Pharaohs’ hands. And the sultanate of pharaoh de-pends on Karun’s wealth. Therefore Pharaoh legitimizes the wealth of Karun who in turn lays out his wealth under his feet. The biggest supporter of Pharaoh and Karun both is Haman (the scholar priest) who provides them with the necessary doctrines. Those three prepare the fertile medium where the shirk (associating partners with ALLAH) will be flouris-hing. Those are the ones who dominate the minds and thoughts of people. They make people believe the biggest forgeries as certainly true, brain washing them in a way. They transform people into robots by educating them in the way they want them to think and act. Karun is the one who feeds that triple. Pharaoh is their guard. Haman is the producer of idealism and indoctrinating. This triple is the trivet which holds up the kufr. Time goes by, characters change but the system never changes. It could be Obama, it could be a holding, or media. Our duty is to be like Moses(pbuh); we may live right in the middle of Kufr and the sea will be divided for us into two parts inshallah.

THE MAIN TOPICBLEEDİNG WOUND; SYRİASyria has been ruled by the Esed family since 1970 with the curfew which was impo-sed after the coup d’état made by the baas party in 1963.

Since then Syria has become the stronghold of the opposition for freedom fighters set by Ihvan al Muslimuun, against hafız esed which was the despotic ruler of the country and was suppressing very violently all the attempts. In 1982 he ordered the massacre of Hama where approximately 50 000 people have been reported to be killed as well as 20 000 have been lost. For years he kept on applying harsh methods on his own people to suppress the demands for freedom in various regions especially in Tadmur.

For 48 years the Syrian people who had been struggling against the cruelty and opp-ression as well as the poverty and fraud is now facing another mass killing today. In march 2011, in Dara, some children between 9 and 15 years old, all from the same family have been arrested and tortured having their nails been pulled up, for writing on the school wall a slogan as such; ‘we want freedom’.

Page 11: İsmailağa Tebliğ Ruhu - Volume 3

9

The relatives of the children took to the streets for protesting the event and further events have started propagating all over the cities thus forming into a struggle for free-dom.

Based on the news coming from the region, in spite of the censorship applied by the Syrian government, it has been expressed that thousands of people have been aff-licted seriously with the terrible events which occurred in the first year of the uprising. According to the official numbers given for April 2012, thirteen thousand people have been killed, eleven hundred twenty two of them being children only. But the unofficial numbers are well above it.

In 2013, the numbers of people who lost their lives in two years time is around forty thousand and those who are lost or forced to immigrate could be mounting up to milli-ons. IDDEF has been active on supplying for the basic needs of Syrian people as well as those immigrated in Turkey providing for them shelter, food and healthcare since the beginning of the events.

CITIES OF TENTS IN SYRIAWe have built masjeeds and madrasah in tents for our brothersWe thought that our Syrian brothers who are going through hard times nowa-days also need madrasah (Islamic schools) to keep their mood and spirituality high as well as providing them easy access to the knowledge and the Qur’an so that they can learn the elements of religion (ilm-i haal).

Based on the principle of IDDEF, which is ‘to care for the people’s welfare in the Hereafter is the highest value given to human being’ we have decided to es-tablish madrasah(religious schools) and masjeeds (places for prayer) in tents, in the region of Kah inside Syria. In a short period of time we have built a very big tent of which the floor has been carpeted and furnished with the books and other necessary goods for that purpose. Also we have made a room next to it for the hodjas (Islamic teachers) to stay. In this way we have accomplished what was missing there alongside with the aids of food, cloth and health care. We have appointed five men and women teachers to teach the boys and girls in that madrasah as well as performing the Juma (Friday congregational prayers) and five times daily prayers.

Our visit of brothers who are living in camps in Syria to support themAlong with the general coordinator of IDDEF Mehmet TURAN hodja and the direc-tor in charge at home of IDDEF Muhammed TAŞÖREN hodja, we have visited the camps in Syria in lands where fierce fighting are still going on, in order to make sure that the aids are reaching its ends in security. At the end of our trip we have been able to revise our projects and strategies for helping inside Syria and determined our work places. And we have decided to extend our work especially to cover the tents in Atmah (13 ooo people) and Kerame (20 ooo people) finally in Kah (40 000 people).

As a result of our trip we have realized once more that we are an Ummah (Nation in Islam) and we have to keep this in mind firmly, also we have to be more supportive to our brothers who are inflicted by cruelty in Syria in their hard times.

WE HAVE DISTRIBUTED BLANKETS AND QUILTS TO OUR SYRİAN BROTHERSIDDEF has distributed blankets and quilts to the needy families in cold winter season of Syria through their aid teams who have reached there in emergency. Our team which has set off the road from Istanbul reaching first our store hall in Kırık-han then arrived in Syria to distribute the quilts and blankets to the deprived families un-der the supervision of our hodjas, has shared the pleasure of providing for their needs in the cold winter conditions.

Quilts and blankets have also been distributed to 13 000 people settled in camps in the area of Atmah for the coming severe winter conditions. The distribution of quilts and blankets donated to IDDEF has done by our federation employees who work under the supervision of two hodgas in order to reach 2000 fami-lies approximately 10 000 people. Our Muslim brothers who are obliged to live at tho-se camps in their own country like immigrants have made prayers for those who have donated and have given charities as well as the aid workers at the service.

The distribution of 30 tons of flour in Syria

IDDEF is continuing the aid works in Syria where the fighting is more and more intensifying. The distributed aids reaching the region within the concept of winter aids is becoming a remedy for the wounds of Syrian people.

Due to the scarcity in Syria which is undergoing fierce fighting, the flour, the food and the winter clothes are the most indispensable goods.

As IDDEF we have been able to convey 30 tons of flour and distribute it at diffe-rent places during our trips we have made there recently. The breads made with those flour distributed to the bakeries which our federation had arranged before are given freely to people in the region.

With those aids, the Syrian people suffering under the heavy bombing and not being able to find even a piece of bread to eat will be having a breath. In this way we are aiming at processing 1 ton of flour every day in order to make 4 500 bread and distribute it to satisfy one of the most essential needs of the deprived people. The general coordinator of IDDEF Mehmet TURAN hodja who has examined the aid activities in its place and noted down the needs of Syrian people in the region said that: “As IDDEF, we are conveying the aid services to the inner regions where intense fights are going on, to submit the aid materials trusted to us by donators to the right people there.

We are making great efforts to increase the number of places where we bring our aid services while the intensive fights are continuing in some of those places. In order to ease the coordination of dispatching we have formed a centre for storage in Kırıkhan.

The aids we have received from all around Turkey and in our headquarters have been gathered there, classified then conveyed to the needy people. At the mo-ment there is a scarcity in Syria. The need for food and clothes has reached the highest level with the coming of winter. We are able to satisfy those needs with the help of charity loving Turkish people who has great concern on this matter.

We have built stores to secure theaids in Turkey and Syria

After having started a campaign with the slogan ‘don’t let the brotherhood in Syria to die’ the amount of donations has drastically increased from day to day therefo-re we had to built stores to keep them in secure to work in coordination with our emergency centers. The first store we built is at the IDDEF central office in Istanbul to receive the local aid materials from around. The second store we have built in Kırıkhan at Hatay to collect the aid materials from all around Turkey.

The classification and dispatch to Syria is done from there. We also have a third store in Syria to keep all the aid materials coming from Turkey and to distribute them after the classification and packaging. The store in Syria is the centre where from we distribute to the cities of Idlib, Atmah, Haleppo, Kah, and Humus.

THE CONVEYING OF AIDS TO OUR BROTHERS IN SYRIA The procedure for dispatching starts once the preparations are done for conveying the aids to the violated Syrian people. The aids conveyed to Syria up to now can be categorized in three groups;

The Flour: We continuously send flour to our Syrian brothers who are deprived of bread. This flour is baked under our supervision, in bakeries we have contracted with, and then distributed to our Syrian brothers. The breads are given in and around the cities like Haleppo, Idlib, Hama to bring barakah(abundance) to the tables of our brothers. In near future our breads will be reaching our brothers who are under siege in Humus.

The blankets: One of the most needed things in Syria in cold winter conditions is the blanket and quilt. While our Syrian brothers were struggling against the cruelty and hunger their suffering has mounted up with the lack of winter clothes and quilts. In order to ease their suffering we have distributed in the camps in Syria thousands of blankets and quilts we have collected from our charity loving people and we witnes-sed their tears of contentment.

Clothes, food and medication: We are providing regularly for our brothers in Syria with loads of clothes, food and medical equipments which were stored at IDDEF’s stores. The goods we have been trusted as IDDEF in order to be sent to Syria are se-parated one by one and packed up by the hands of our volunteers then the vans are loaded to set off the road for Syria in convoys to reach the cities of tent there to bring good news to our brothers who are struggling with all sorts of troubles.

Establishment of strong bonds with the Syrian scholars of Ahl al Sunnah One of our projects concerning Syria was to support the Syrian Islamic scholars in their hard times.

We have been able to recruit and accommodate in various regions, the Islamic teachers who applied to us, and provided for their needs so that they can con-tinue their teaching. In this way hundreds of them have been able by now to continue their teaching activities.

Thus we have witnessed once more that the hardships bring people together and cause them to unite.

Summer training of youth from the refugee camps IDDEF has elaborated its aid to Syria in the area of education. In our visit to our Syrian brothers who escaped from the cruelty in Syria and immigrated to Turkey we have realized that they also need moral support and education in an Islamic environment. We have registered forty young boys coming from the tent cities of Kilis and Yayladağ to our 2012 summer educational program in Istanbul at our madrasah called Darul Erkam where we only accept foreign students.

Our Syrian young brothers have taken Qur’an, Hadith (sayings of the Prophet) and Fıqıh (Islamic injunctions) lessons there. At the end of the training they pra-yed for us and thanked us for the donated books and all kind of moral and finan-cial support we have given them as well as the importance and care we have shown them.

Our Syrian brothers who attended our madrasah have also benefited morally from the sohbets(talks) of our hodjas Nedim PAYALAN, Mahmud EREN, and Me-tin BALKANLIOĞLU who have influenced them by their high level of spirituality.

Our next step is now the realization of the project for the religious training of Syri-an orphans of which we have finished the infrastructure quickly in order to begin the activity in nearest future.

The aid to our wounded Syrian brothersAmongst the Syrian boys who attended the summer training in our Madrasah Darul Erkam in Istanbul, there were some wounded or disabled in war and those who were physically and permanently harmed in war.

As IDDEF we have accommodated them in special rooms in our madrasah so that they can rest in peace and we have covered the costs concerning their tre-atment, such as the transportation, the medication and medical consultation after the operation. We have also assisted their return to the tent cities after their trai-ning and treatment has ended.

The duah (prayer) for our Syrian brothers in Fatih mosqueIDDEF has organized a Dua (prayer) program in order to show that it is standing by the violated Syrian people in all terms, providing material aid and moral support with your donations. Thousands of people have attended the program called ‘our pra-yers for Syria’ organized by our federation at the Fatih Mosque. Thousands of pe-ople gathered at the Fatih Mosque to pray through the blessed mouths of scholars from Syria and Turkey for the oppressed Muslim brothers and sisters in Syria and other Muslims who are being tortured at various places around the world.

Our spiritual leader, our respected sheik Hajji Mahmud Ustaosmanoğlu Efendi also sent his blessed salaams (greetings) to the participants and has conveyed his state of pleasure for such an organization taking place for that purpose.>>>

Among the many participants there were respected scholars such as Hasan Efendi, Abdullah USTAOSMANOĞLU hodja Efendi, İbrahim Efendi (the deputy of Mahmud Efendi Hazretleri for Denizli), Mahmut Şevket USTAOSMANOĞLU (the Chairman of IDDEF), Selahaddin Efendi (the Imam and preacher of the Ismailağa Mosque), Ce-lal ERZİNCANLIOĞLU (the head of the Foundation of Ismailağa for Knowledge and Service) and Fatih DEMİR (the Mayor of Fatih district).

The honorable guests such as the head of the United Scholars of Sham (Damascus), Usame er Rifai and the head of the Sham Sherif Society Eymen Shabani as well as prof. Mucir el Hatip have made prayers there.

The Syrian scholars have expressed their outmost gratitude for the Turkish people who been extremely concerned for them and supportive both morally and financially, becoming Ensars (Helpers) for them.

The scolar Eymen Shabani who gave a speech at the praying ceremony has poin-ted out that tremendous cruelty has been going on in Syria and the whole world was keeping quiet. Shabani has said that around 250 people were being every day killed in Syria and horrendous crimes have been committed against the people who simply want to have an honorable life. He carried on saying; “Children are being slaughtered

and honor and chastity of women are being violated, the mosques are crushed down and the Holy Qur’an is being betrayed. They poison the water sources. Everybody in the world sees and hears the crime the regime is committing there but unfortunately still keeps silent. Allah the Almighty has sent Moses(pbuh) against pharaoh’s cruelty and He has sent our Turkish brothers for the Syrian people as Ensar(Helpers).’’ He has then called upon all the Muslims to pray for the Syrian people.

The program was full of emotional moments and along with the Syrian scholars, Usame er Rifai and Mucir el Hatip, hands were raised up with tears in eyes to make long pra-yers for the war in Syria to end and the peace to come.

The event which thousands of people were participating, has ended by the final prayer for Syria made by İbrahim Efendi, the deputy for Denizli and Hasan Efendi.

We present our thanks to the thousands of Mu’min(believing men) brothers and Mu’minah(believing women) sisters who gathered at the courtyard of the Fatih Mosque for their care and genuine support and we pray Our Lord the Almighty for all the prayers done for the Muslim Ummah (Nation of Muslims) to be accepted.

Sacrifice animals offered to the needy ones keep them happyIDDEF is also accepting the donations in forms of sacrifice animals for aqiqah (sacrifi-ced for the well being of a new born muslim baby as a thanksgiving to Allah), sadaqah (charity) or votive (When you vow to commit something you may sacrifice an animal when you do it or it happens) purposes at any time of the year. The slaughtering of those animals is accomplished according to the Islamic principles under the supervision of our hodjas whom we are sure about their religious sensitivity, then distributed to the needy ones.Your sacrifice animals donated for charity to our federation in October, November and December have been slaughtered under the supervision of our hodjas on duty in the countries Burkino faso, Bangladesh, Guinea, Ethiopia and Mali to be distributed to the students at madrasah in the region and to those families in need. The priority at the distribution of the sacrificed animals’ meat is given here to the students at the Madrasah, then to the needy families and orphans, thus keeping them happy for they have not been able to eat meat for months and also making us happy for having being able to dispatch the donations trusted to us in the right places. You can also be supporting for the needy ones by donating sacrifice animals for aqiqah, sadaqah or votive purposes to IDDEF.

The barakah (abundance) of water in GhanaOur federation IDDEF has been digging water wells in countries where there is scarcity of water in Africa especially in Ghana where the draught is at hig-hest level. In Ghana it has been going on the digging of new wells for some time in the past 5 more wells have been completed with your donations and inaugurated with prayers.

The newly dag wells makes every day life quit easier now for the people, providing them with clean water for which otherwise they had to walk for long distances in order to reach.

The people in the region are very happily getting their need for water from the-se wells and making prayers for those charitable ones who have contributed for digging wells. As usual, those wells have been named after the names of the charitable pe-ople who have contributed for it, thus the water wells dag lately are called as follows;Bayram Sultan, Hilal Akbay 1, Hilal Akbay 2, The association of Erzincan Rose Sheikh Mahmud Efendi Women Society, The association of Erzincan Rose Sheikh Mahmud Efendi Men Society.

When the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) has honored Madinah, the first thing he did was to built a masjeed(small size mosque) there. Therefore in any country we bring our services the first thing we do is to find out if there is any masjeed there. In a village called Kindi which is 150km distant from the capital Ouagadougou, a rich Christian who became muslim years ago said; “Everywhere is full of churches, there is not a single mosque in my country. I will make a mosque.” Then he has started to build the mosque. When he was half the way on the construction death found this respected person. His children who were not muslim did not continue the construction any more. As for the people they could not help either to finish it since they were poor.In time being, the head of this tribe became muslim and the tribe has followed him. But the region was the single muslim area without a masjeed so they told their case to IDDEF through Abdullah hodja. The Head of IDDEF Mahmut Shevket USTAOSMANOGLU hodja effendi and the ge-neral coordinator of IDDEF Mehmet TURAN hodja effendi and the assistant chairman of İsmailağa Foundation Seyfettin INANÇ hodja effendi have examined the case in place then promised the Kindi people to finish the building. The masjeed of which the external painting and the plastering is finished up to now as well as the roof, is plan-ned to be ready for worship within a few weeks; may Allah make us succeed. From our team…The village people have urged to meet IDDEF their gaze full of love and shyness. We have prayed our Asr (afternoon) prayer at a jerry built place across the construction and Abdullah hodja gave a short speech in their own language which we did not un-derstand but were touched with it. On the way back I asked Abdullah hodja what he was talking about, he translated as follows;“Our brothers here have come from quit long distances to visit you. But we have not-hing to treat them with. In fact they want nothing from you; they bring you gifts. The only thing they ask from you is to live by Islam and strengthen the brotherhood of Is-lam.”

Our madrasah of Daru’l Erkam in Istanbul is giving its fruitsApart form our other foreign students in the Madrasah of Darul Erkam for foreigners in Istanbul, we have also accommodated 6 hodja (teachers); 3 hodjas being from Gha-na, 1 hodja being from Somalia, 2 hodjas being from Ethiopia, in order to accomplish their studies during the 2012 September – December session. Our hodjas being Hafız (the one who made the whole Qur’an by heart) or Qurra (the one who knows various forms of recitation of Qur’an by heart), they have studied Ara-bic and Islamic Jurisprudence. Our aim in hosting the foreign hodjas coming from different countries is to inform them about our society’s way and methods and management system in madrasah as well as to introduce them with the values such as tasawwuf we care for. This program also helps us to decide, before recruiting them, about their religious and personal moral values so that we can support them in their activities at Madrasah if we come up with a positive conclusion.During their stay in the Madrasah, our guests are attending the same lessons as the students in ‘Commanding the good forbidding the evil’ class. Sometimes they are also given some duties such as teaching under grade level stu-dents or preaching them as well as maintaining the cleanness and order in madrasah. And their fulfillment of these duties has been observed. Also we go to the visits of the mosques and tombs with our guests. Those of our guests who have been here during the Eidul Adha, they found the oppor-tunity of visiting one of our respected hodjas, Ramazan hodja effendi and listen to his enlightening sohbet(speech), after having visited the Prophet Yusha (pbuh) along with the foreign students. Nuh Adem hodja from Ghana and the Hafız al Qurra, Zuhayr Abubakr hodja from So-malia have been sent back to their own countries to be on duty to watch out the Kur-bani (Sacrifice during Eidul Adha) organsiation of our Federation IDDEF, during Eidul Adha.Whitin this program, Hafız Osman hodja form Habeshstan (Ethiopia) has been sent to Erzincan (a city in eastern Turkey) for a short period of time in order to continue his studies in our madrasah there.Osman hodja he took his grade certificate from the Syrian Hafiz al qurra, Ahmed es Seyyid hodja in Erzincan in two types of recitation. In December 2012 two more hodjas have come to join us in our madrasah , one Hafız and one Imam both from Tajikistan and both affiliated to our Mahmud Effendi Hazretleri(may Allah bless his soul) and started their studies.

IDDEF continues its work of guidance in AfricaThe Kulliyah (campus with mosque, religious schools, etc.) which construction had started in 2011 and named after Mahmud USTAOSMANOGLU, is now rising up in Conakry of Guinea which is in the west of Africa. The Abdulhamid Han mosque which is inside the Kulliyah and which is spaced on 900 meters squares; its second floor is still being constructed. The private gallery in the first floor is done and the second floor has been concreted. The capacity will be increased with the new galleries being done. Two minarets added to the mosque designed in Ottoman style will render a nice view to the building. The minarets have been designed as 41 meters long, inspi-red from the following Turkish expression (which is uttered for protection against evil eyes): “ 41 times maashallah” (with Allah ‘s will this happened). The Abdulhamid Mosque with 22 meters of dome height is the first Ottoman style mosque built in Guinea. Alongside the mosque and its fountain for ablution there will also be a madrasah for ordinary students, a madrasah for orphans, a health

centre, a guesthouse, a school and a wedding hall and a hall to hold the meetings inside the Kulliya which is aimed to be the guiding centre for Africa. The Kulliya of Mahmud USTAOSMANOGLU has a great importance for it is a big development regarding Islam for Guinean people as well as Africa.Through the lessons which will be studied here and the scholars who will be gradu-ated from this Kulliya a candle will be lit in African lands to enlighten the ignorance and allow Islam to propagate fast and correctly. It has been planned that the biggest part of the Kulliya construction will be done before the rains season starts.A serious amount of financial and physical efforts are needed in order to be able to start the first congregational prayer in the Abdulhamid Mosque this year in Ra-madan at the first teraweeh (a superogatory prayer which is done during Ramadan after the isha(night) prayer).

We have experienced the Kurbani with MuslimsIDDEF has been providing meet since last three years through the Kurbani (; the cere-monial sacrifice of cattles and distibution of its meat to the poor and needy in order to gain Allah’s pleasure; İt is obligatory upon wealthy, sane, adult muslim man or woman once in a year.) organizations to the madrasah students as well as the needy famili-es especially in African countries. In 2012 we have been able to fulfill on behalf of our donators their Kurbani duties in around 20 countries and the regions in need in those counties. Through our 2012 Kurbani organization, we have experienced the Kurbani duty which is obligatory upon wealthy Muslims, together with our madrasah students and needy families; we have become food at their table and a smile on their faces. We have been able to reach thousands of people at the tables and have become sharer of their prayers for our donators.

ACTIVITIESThe Love for UmmahOur hodjas who were on duty for the Kurbani have been to different countries and regi-ons in order to start the slaughtering on behalf, reading their names one by one for each and every donator. They worked hard to fulfill righteously the job they trusted for. They have also been checking there the madrasah and masjeeds as well as the water wells we have done previously. The meat of the slaughtered animals to be shared righteously and distributed properly also was an important matter of concern. They have been able to reach those families in need, which perhaps never had any chance of having meat at their homes. They have given Kurbani meat to our students studying in our madrasah and their families as well. Our aim in this Kurbani organization is not just to provide meat to the people whom we are concerned about their life in hereafter, but also to do Tebliğ (conveying the message of Islam), fulfilling our main duty by commanding the good and forbidding the evil.Unfortunately we have been quit late to reach our Muslim brothers who were living thou-sands of kilometers from Turkey and participate in their joy for Eid (holy day). This was a delayed message; the message of religious brotherhood and love for ummah.

Invited by aid organization ‘Muslim Hands’, IDDEF has visited Pakistan between the 30th of November and 6th of December. The IDDEF committee composed of M. Shevket USTAOSMANOGLU, Muhammed YELKENCI and Huseyin AVNI hodja ef-fendis has done a series visits there. The first day of the trip our committee has visited the Lalezar Ismailaga madra-sah we had opened in Pakistan as well as a school and they had a chat with students there. After the visit, our committee has come together with some scolars at lunch. The Turkish and Pakistani Ulemah have met there to discuss scholarly matters. The second day of the trip our committee set off for Wazirabad early in the morning and visited some madrasahs. The chairman of ‘Muslim hands’ coming from England has also participated in this visit. The common point of those madrasah is that they are both made for orphans. After having been introduced to the madrasah, our delegation have been invited as guest of honor to give a speech at the conference hall. Our hod-

ja Huseyin AVNI efendi has made a short speech after having been given a plaque there. That speech has been completely useful since our hodja Huseyin AVNI ef-fendi has mentioned some important mat-ters about how Tasawuf (Sufism) should be protected and benefited from in the proper way. Then our committee has set off the road for Sialkot to meet there the scholars of the region. The program has started with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an then conti-nued with praises to the prophet (pbuh) and the speech of the chairman of ‘Mus-lim hands’. In his speech he explained how Mahmud Effendi was considered as Mu-jaddeed (Refresher of İslam in our time, in particular the ahl al sunnah wal jamaah) and the value of our jamaah (community). After that speech our master Huseyin AVNI hodja effendi has made a short but meaningful speech regarding the spirit of Teblig. Muhammed YELKENCI hodja has made the final speech of the program.

The third day of the Pakistan trip our com-mittee has visited Haripur orphanage and talked with the orphans there. Our com-mittee has witnessed there some touchy moments as well as the joyful ones and they have touched the orphans’ heads each and every one by one of the 113 students who were there, in compliance with the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). Huseyin AVNI hodja who was shortly counseling them has given our orphan brothers the swe-ets they were offered themselves as gifts. The fourth day of their visit to Pakistan our committee has attended the invitation of one of the well known muftis in Pakistan, Mufti Seyyid. After having breakfast together they have visited the Mufti’s library. At dinner our committee has joined the scholars of the Madrasah of Fatih and was offered there the gifts sent by one of the most prominent sheikhs in Cashmere from Cashmere.Mufti Abu Lubabe has expressed their wish

about their madrasah within their edifice in Pakistan, to be called after Ismailaga (who was 78th Sheykh ul Islam during Ottoman empire) in order to be blessed with the Bara-kah of this name. The fifth day of Pakistan trip our commit-tee has participated the memorial ceremony organized in Bera Sharif in the memory of Sheikh Muhammad Kerem Shah al Ezheri who passed away and who was one of the great ulemah in Pakistan. Turkiye-i mahbube (Turkey the beloved one)After a long traveling in the air starting from midday until midnight, by landing on Isla-mabad airport our knowing of Pakistan was transforming into a knowing well now. In spite of the late hours we could get to sleep and we have started to observe every de-tail about Pakistan. I was first worried for a while for I have thought an accident could happen anytime since the man in the left site front sit of the car which was taking us to Revalpindi kept turning back to talk to us until I have soon realized that actually the driver’s sit was on the right; with a deep sorrow though. As a result of British coloniza-tion the drivers’ sit in the car is on the right in Pakistan exactly like in England. After ten or fifteen minutes drive, we have been able to reach by the spiritual en-lightening from İsmailaga Mosque, thousands of kilometers far from Turkey, the Hafiz Madrasah belonging to Mahmud Efendi Hazretleri. It is a place full of enlightenment representing the purity and cleanness of Efendi where 25 Hafiz candidates wearing turbans and baggy coats (in İslamic clothes) were studying. At the breakfast table prepared according to the Pakistani food culture there were the representatives of the Hubayb Waqf (Foundation) as well as those hodjas effendis who have visited our Huseyin AVNİ hodja in İzmir(Turkey). They had a madrasah in a region where armed Shia groups were trying to be in control and its manager had to wear steel jacket for protection, so that he doesn’t get killed in a Shia attack. Altho-ugh Shahadah is the highest rank in İslam, taking precaution is also necessary as a principle in our religion. This person has reminded me of a letter from Imam Rabba-ni (blessed his soul) to a person. He, the Mujadded of the second era of Islam, was addressing that person in his letter; “I envy you; on one hand you are struggling in the way of Allah and on the other hand you are teaching the rules of Shariah.” The visits of our ‘Callers to the truth’ in terms of acceptance of the invitations... Although it looks taking a short period of time the visits we have felt long due to the unexpected ceremonies we were not used to… Our Mahmut SHevket hodja’s uncon-ventional reply to them… Our Huseyin AVNI hodja’s influencing prophetic counsels although it was unexpected for the other side yet rendering positive influences…The treatment with outmost hospitality possible they have shown us made us extremely happy.

Page 57: İsmailağa Tebliğ Ruhu - Volume 3

55

OBSERVATIONAs mentioned in the saying of the Prophet (pbuh) “Religion is all about counseling” thus each and every Muslim is needing counseling for the wrong doing in deeds has reached the level of distorting the itikad (faith) nowadays. The fact that once this jama-ah used to be so meticulous about living by the Sunnah are now so much in need for the counseling of our hodjas trained under the spiritual guidance of Effendi Hazretleri, using His highly efficient method, can be understood from their reply to Husayin AVNI hodja who was preaching them and reminding them of their wrong understandings, as such; “you are great men”. The orphans of the Hubayb Waqf; they are hundreds of bared feet, bowing heads entrusted to Ummah. Some have no mothers, some have no fathers some are missing both…Some stricken with flood, some earthquakes some orphans of the war in Cash-mere… On their faces, in their eyes shines of happiness saying “we are in this cause until the end of our lives”…Our visit to the masjeed in Seyalkoti where has studied Imam Rabbani who is very much respected by our Mahmud Efendi, then our visit to the tomb of Abdulhakim Se-yalkoti (may Allah mercy him) who has written many commentaries and annotations for most of the books studied on in our Madrasah, were composing unforgettable snap shots of our travel. The scolars form Diyobendi Madrasah, who were saying that they were honored by the award they had offered Mahmud Effendi, during visiting their madrasah in Islama-bad we were amazed by the panorama which was formed by the students, taking us to the ancient times. The tables of discussion was decorated by books such as Kuduri, Nur ul Envar, Hidaye, Usulu Sashi, Bahru Raik.Like Muhammed Maliki Haseneyn (may Allah mercy him) had said once about the stu-dents in the Madrasah of Mahud Efendi, their view was reminding us of Salafee Saale-eheen (The pious early ones who passed before). Those are the impressions we had from what we have observed during this short visit. Well, what about their impression about us?The two words mentioned at the beginning of his speech, done by the director of this madrasah, is a summary of their feelings about us: Turkiye-i mahbube.

We were in Ethiopia as the responsible for education of the Call Association in year 2011 Kurbani organization, along with IDDEF whom we are constituent member. We set off the road for Habeshstan (Ethi-opia), the country of king Najaashee who had welcomed once the companions of the Prophet (pbuh), with mixed feelings swe-et and soar of being away from our loved ones during the Eid ul Adha on one hand but being with our brothers in Islam in a different country on the other hand. This country is called today Ethiopia. Be-fore the trip, in our meeting about serving consciously, the expression I was most influenced was; “The urgent educational aid for Africa”.We have not been in Habeshstan just for slaughtering kurbani, but to establish the unity and togetherness among the Islamic world and preserving the religion through this event of Kurbani was also our aim.

We were worried because in this continent the missionary activities were quite high. We are facing here the fact we have been warned by our beloved Master Mahmud Effendi (blessed his soul) who taught us to worry about the ummah problems, saying: when the valley is left empty the wolves show up there.Today Africa is a place where not only just the missionaries’ show up but also the gro-ups with wrong faith and views are there too. Therefore being here in order to preser-ve and propagate the principles of Ahl al Sunnah wa’l jamaah is of a great impor-tance. We have to take care of here both financially and spiritually. Our masters, the companions of the Prophet (pbuh) and our ancestors have worried about the Ummah more than their own problems. They have broadcasted Islam in five continents. And now it is our turn.

Let us stop the waste and start turning our face to Africa

Before returning from Ethiopia, having accomplished the year 2011 Kurbani or-ganization, a meeting was held in Addis Ababa, where civil societies have partici-pated. Since the purpose of this meeting was based on our Prophet’s (pbuh) Hadith; “They are not from them those who do not care for the problems of the Muslims”, so the topic was ‘what could we be doing for our brothers in Africa’. In this meeting, with the help of Allah the Almighty and the moral support of our Master Mahmud Effendi (blessed his soul) we have presen-ted a project in order to stop wasting and that is to keep a box for savings at every home; do not put the bread into the bin, do not waste water. Do not buy unnecessary clothes. Let us send the money which is thrown away in waste to Africa. In Ethiopia they have trusted me the following words to convey to you; “Your ancestors, the Ot-tomans took a great deal of care of us. You are their descendants. We are trusted to you by your ancestors. Share your faciliti-

es with us.” They are showing their loyalty now by teaching the Ottoman history at the madrasah where 167 students are stud-ying Arabic and memorizing Qur’an, in the region of Bati in Ethiopia. As I have always kept mentioning again and again in each and every occasion, in my speeches, in fact they want nothing for themselves, and that is what makes me more to feel sorry. In Sembati region, in a madrasah of 70 students, when asked about their needs the hodja effendis have told us that they were not able to buy their students’ books. Furthermore in the region AFFAR our vil-lage mosque by the road is about to col-lapse … and again in AFFAR, in a village madrasah the water is out of our reach, in a day’s distance, so we cannot find water for ablution. And more like this …Those needs of theirs are not for their dunya(world) or their own selves, they need these for their hereafter. >>>

When we our bread to the bin we should remember that they cannot find any bread at all. When we waste water we should remember that they need to go a day’s distance way to bring their water over their shoulder. When our wardrobes are full of clothes they are not able even to cover up themselves. One of our Ethiopian brother has told us the-se meaningful words; “Our brothers from Turkiye, they love getting new clothes at Eid times, say our salaams to them and to send us their old clothes.”Based on the following Hadith of our Prophet (pbuh); “He is not from us the one who goes to bed full stomach when his neighbor is hungry” we have started a campaign as IDDEF from Kayseri.

In order to stop wasting at homes we have called this campaign as “The Stop The Was-te Box for Every Home”. Within this context we have started this work in 1000 homes in Kayseri and we had seriously good results in a short period of time. The responcible for Kayseri of Mahmud Efendi Hazretleri and the head of our Kayseri Call Associ-ation, a genuine service man worrying about reli-gion, our much beloved Ismail KAHRAMAN hodja used to tell us to give up the problems concerning our own selves or services whenever a matter concerning the ummah was there and used to recite the following Hadith;“Our Prophet (pbuh) has said: “As long as a per-son is helping his Muslim brother, Allah the al-mighty is with him” ( Muslim, Abu Davud)”In this way he was advising us; “Let us help them so that Allah the almighty helps us”.

OBSERVATION

Page 61: İsmailağa Tebliğ Ruhu - Volume 3

59

Obviously I have applied this project first in my own home. My six and half year old son Muhammed Shamil, has asked me when he saw the picture, on the ‘stop the waste box’ of African children waiting in the queue with the plates in their hands; ‘ Oh dad what these children are waiting for with empty plates in their hands. I said “my dear son, these children are your Muslim brothers in Africa waiting for food, bread, water and clothes. We will not waste and we will be saving in this box for them. Your brothers in Africa will use the money in this box for their needs my son.”

So every evening when I get home we have made a habit not to sit at the table without putting money in that box. In this way we will be teaching ourselves and our children not to waste, as well as the spirit of giving for charity, sharing their sorrows and the problems of our brothers in religion. Let us broadcast this effort to all around the co-untry to be able to bring service to many regions. Is our aim just to bring aid? NO!

Through the aids, we intend to keep our brotherhood warm and to preserve the muslim identity which is the cause of bliss for both this world and hereafter also to protect our muslim brothers from being deceived by missionaries’’.

Allah says: “And they feed, for love of Him, with food the destitute, the orphan and the captive. Saying: ‘We feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire not from you any re-compense or thanks. Verily we dread from our Lord a Day, grim and distressful.’ ” The Holy Qur’an Chpt.76 Surah Al Insan Verse 8-9-10. (Amen).Vesselaam…

Whenever a caravan is mentioned that means a trip for a long distance where the way and its passengers including their values are concerned within a series of organized vehicles. The caravan of the associations which value human is like other cara-vans is setting off the enlightened road for a long journey to reach the goal, with passengers having their own values. The associations forming this caravan are all the means which take its passengers to set them off on the road determined to reach the highest goal. Through the means of aid agencies which have arisen drastically in the last decade and have propagated in a wide range, the services done with the highest level of determination are increasing more and more with a growing speed both in our country and abroad. At home, through the activities of these associations it has now appeared clearly in our people’s sight what is needed in order to make human life worthy to l ive. Through the activities of these associations such as visiting homes for elderly people and villages for counseling as well as the places like cafeterias and bars for conveying the message and handing out didac-tic leaflets, organizing educational seminars or religious talks for peop-le, encouraging Qur ’an studies have been all very useful for a massive amount of people as children, youth or elderly causing radical changes in their l ives. Many of our brothers going through various crisis due to the corrupti-ons and mischief in our time, has been able to recognize his Creator and get to know the purpose of his own creation through these acti-vities and thus saving his life even at the brim of a suicide when he was about. And again through these activities many young people have come to realize that the best time to get the knowledge of Islam is the youth times and they have decided to devote themselves for Islamic studies making drastically changes in their l ives. Through these activities thousands of our brothers in their childhood have received the message of the Holy Qur ’an and have come to know closely our Prophet (pbuh) who is a mercy for all worlds, and his mo-rality to enable them to become well equipped against the erosions of morality in our time. The services offered by these activities have also become a great shi-eld against the missionaries’ bad influences on our youth abroad. This caravan setting off with the beautiful idea of “Caring for people’s life in Hereafter is the greatest value they are given to” is actually brin-ging forth clearly the value people should have in this world and the way they should take in order to live up by this value.

As we do in every issue we will be examining closely in this issue too an association from this caravan. We are talking about the Erzinjan Ergul association which is also our constituent member. We present here the outstanding association from pioneering troops of this blessed caravan. Our way is a long one stretching out to the Jannah(Heavens) of Fir-daws, Adn, Naim. We are in a blessed caravan with full of passengers girded with various high values. We have chosen among those valu-es the most important one and called our caravan after it, that is; “To give the highest value to human being.” Since human being is the most noble of creatures

“And let there be among you a community calling others to good and commanding equity and forbidding evil. And it is these who are blissful.”

The Holy Qur’an, Chpt.2, Surah Ali Imran Verse 104.

The purpose for the foundation of the association

Educational Seminars

As being Erzincan ERGULDER we are giving educational seminars regarding our general culture including lessons of Arabic and Ottoman language as well as les-sons for teaching the Holy Qur’an and the elements of religion. The lessons are given at the central place of the association and its branches by qualified teachers during the week days, day time for ladies only and in the evenings for working men and children.

Our association which was active in Erzincan has been founded for supporting the social aid and cultural solidarity.

Our association is continuing its activities such as organizing courses, seminars, conferences, panels, setting up classes, libraries, guest houses, educational talk halls, also organizing special days and nights for various occasions such as dinner meetings, tea talks, and trips for socializing at home and abroad, in order to impro-ve the social relations among the people in society.

Visits for teblig purposes

We are performing our Teblig work at hundred points all around the country through various associations we are in cooperation with and IDDEF of which we are a mem-ber. Our visits are done in the company of our eligible hodjas (teachers) who have good human relations and well qualified on matters of faith, worship, religious dea-lings and morality. In those visits we are addressing all kind of people in the society at business places, hospitals, cafeterias, homes for elderly and factories. As for the business we are aiming at establishing a moral consciousness among the business men.

Our visits to the hospitals are done on certain days of the week in order to counsel our brothers who are ill there and support them morally.

At the cafeterias we are giving religious talks on weekly basis sharing the beautiful-ness of our religion with the customers.

As for the homes for elderly we kiss the hands of our elderly ones showing interest in them and asking for their needs.

When visiting factories or industrial places we are giving seminars on religious and cultural matters appropriate with the needs of both workers and employers.

Through those visits we are intending to form a conscious society which is complying with the commandments of Allah and works in order to get the pleasure of Allah in their trade.

“And let there be among you a community calling others to good and commanding equity and forbidding evil. And it is these who are blissful.”

The Holy Qur’an, Chpt.2, Surah Ali Imran Verse 104.
