From September 23rd to October 29th 2017 International Solidarity for Human Rights embarked in the project ofbringing Human Rights Education programs to the countries of Spain and Andorra.
ISHR in numbers:
37 days abroad + 518 hours work + 9 schools visited + 1 University + 1025 students reached with HRCB + 4 humanrights plaques installed in 3 Cities Lugo-Cornellana-Grandas de Salime + 16 meetings attended +10 pilgrims HR walk +93 miles walked of the Routr to Human Rights Primitive Way from Oviedo-Santiago de Compostela.

During our first visit to Andorra in the month of September 23rd -Oct 1st 2017, ISHR’s President Elizabeth Sanchez Vegas andExecutive Director Devorah Sasha met with the differentauthorities of the Government of the Principality of Andorra tointerchange ideas and projects concerning the subject of HumanRights Education.

ISHR delivered its program Human Rights Class in a Box to 25 students from the University of Andorra who are now preparing their own programs and syllabus to teach others Human Rights and to teach human rights in their communities.

The Organization of Ibero-American States for Education,Science and Culture, is an international organization whosemembers are the Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking nations ofthe Americas and Europe and Equatorial Guinea in Africa.
Its purpose is to promote intergovernmental cooperationamong its member nations which will aid the planning anddevelopment of regional projects in education, science,technology and the arts.
One of its main objectives is: to encourage the development ofeducation and culture for peace by preparing people topreserve freedom, solidarity and human rights, supportingchange which make these possible.

THE ROUTE TO HUMAN RIGHTS Meeting with “Compostela Group”
ISHR’s meeting with María Teresa Carballeira Rivera,Executive Secretary of the Compostela Group ofUniversities (GCU).
The Compostela Group of Universities is a non-profitassociation that brings together more than sixtyuniversities around the world.
The entity will organize an international human rightsforum on the Camino.

ISHR’s The Route to Human Rights Project in thePrimitive Way has already installed 15 plaquesdedicated to the articles of the UDHR in ThePrimitive Way of Saint James; The route begins inOviedo and ends in Santiago de Compostela.
It is a 321 kilometer walk.
From October 4th to Oct 14th ISHR unveiled 4 of theplaques of The Route to Human Rights in thePrimitive Way in the cities of Cornellana, Grandasand Lugo.

ISHR President Elizabeth Sanchez Vegas and Executive-Director Devorah Sasha met with Education-Health andSports Commissioner of the Council of Oviedo Mrs.Mercedes González Menéndez. We explored thepossibility of collaboration, between the Council andISHR, on the implementation of ISHR’s program“Human Rights Class in a Box” in schools of Oviedo,Spain.

ISHR President Elizabeth Sanchez Vegas and ExecutiveDirector Devorah Sasha met with the General Directorof Oviedo Filarmonia Mrs. Maria Riera Gutierrez andthe President of the Lyric Awards “Teatro Campoamor”Musicologist Cosme Marina.
In an extraordinary atmosphere, the institutionsdiscussed about a musical project dedicated to HumanRights.
In the meeting, Begona Panea Director of Where isAsturias, ISHR’s liaison with Asturias in The Route toHuman Rights Project, was also present.

During ISHR’s recent visit to Asturias and Galicia inSpain, the organization delivered its human rightsprogram “Human Rights Class in a Box” to 300elementary school students of the followingeducational institutions:

Primitive Way (2017)Annual Human Rights Pilgrimage Trip to the Way of Saint James
A group of 10 people, friends and followers of ISHR,travelled to Spain, to do The Way of Saint James walkthrough the “Primitive Way” Asturias-Galicia, in Spain(Oct19-29).
ISHR is running the project The Route to Human Rights inThe Primitive Way, Spain.
The participants had the opportunity to learn about the“The Route to Human Rights”, learn about HumanRights, while engaging in the pilgrim life activities of thePrimitive Way. A hands on experience of Human Rightsand a life changing walk. ( 93 miles on foot)
