MID COAST HOSPITAL For a lifetime of caring www.midcoasthealth.com 729-0181 The good news is that more and more women are being diagnosed early and surviving this disease, largely because of increased awareness. Awareness is a primary goal at Mid Coast Hospital’s Breast Health Center and of the Center’s coordinator, Kim Lynch, RN. Kim and Deb Wallace, RN are experts at helping patients navigate the system, sharing their experience and lending support. Our multi- disciplinary team includes radiation oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, nurses, occupational therapists, nutritionists, and pharmacists. Mid Coast uses state-of-the art diag- nostic technology, such as breast MRI, which helps doctors search more accurately for additional cancer sites before surgery. In the very near future we will be one of the few facilities in Maine offering MRI breast biopsies. We’re also looking forward to a new digital mammography machine in 2006—the latest in high resolution technology. We have a terrific breast cancer support group, and a new group for patients with recurrent breast cancer. We also offer a comprehensive breast rehabilitation program.
