    FOREWORD

This Indian Standard ( First Revision ) was adopted by the Bureau or Indian Standards, afterthe draft finalized bf the Pesticides Sectional Committee had been approved by the foodand Aariculture DivIsion Council.

2, 4-D ethyl ester WP is used as a weedlcide.

2, 4-D ethyl ester WP is Icnerally manufactured to contaln 20 percent ( m/m) 2. 4-D ethylester haViD' 18-5 percent ( mtm ) of 2, 4·D acid.In the preparation of this ltandard, due consideration has been given to the provisions of theIn,ecticld,. Act, 1968 and Rules framed tbereunder. However, tois standard is subject to therestrlctione imposed under these, wherever applicable.

For the purpose of deciding, whether a particular requirement or this standard is complied with, the final value, observed or calculated, espressinl the result of a teat or analysillhall be roundedoff in accordance with IS 2 : 1960 'Rules for rounding off numerical values. (revised)'. The numberof si.nificant placel retained in the rounded off value should. be the same as that of the specifiedvalue in this standard.
