    The rst ever Ironman Wales marathon course takes place in and around the picturesque town of Tenby.Starting on Trafalgar Road, heading out of the town wall, north towards New Hedges, it returns on thesame route but takes you through its historic town walls and beautiful seaside scenery.

    The course is a four loop run, each loop consisting of just over 10 kilometres of running, with the runalong Tenbys iconic Esplanade to reach the nish line making up the marathon distance.

    Tenby

    As the host town for Ironman Wales, Tenby will witness each element of this amazing event.

    The event will use various roads for the bike and run element which means there will be somerestrictions in place over race weekend. Vehicle access is provided wherever it is safe to do so, howeverthis does mean that some roads being used for the race will be closed for a period of the race weekend.

    The majority of residents will have vehicle access for periods during the day. The B4138 is open

    throughout the event for access to the A477, though it will have a controlled crossing of the bike coursenear Carew between 08:00 and 16:00, which may delay trac at peak times.

    The A478 Narberth Road will be open for northbound trac until 11:30 and reopen at 17:30.

    The A4139 to Lamphey is closed from 07:00 to 14:30 but trac will have access eastbound from Penallyto Tenby and beyond.

    A crossing point will be managed by Stewards for vehicles to cross the bike course into Greenhill Road toprovide access to the towns car parks and certain streets in the centre of town, with overow parking tobe made available in order to accommodate the expected visitor numbers.

    A Park & Ride scheme from Carew Aireld will be in operation through the day, to provide access forIronman Wales spectators and visitors to the town.

    Penally

    Travel along the A4139 will be restricted between 7am and 3.30pm. However there will be an east boundone way system implemented on the A4139 from the north end of the village only through to Tenby toallow egress. Return access is available via the B4318, through St. Florence and then along The Ridgeway.Normal access and egress is available outside of the restriction times.

    Lydstep

    Travel along the A4139 will be restricted between 7am and 3.30pm. There will however be a brief periodbetween approximately 9.30am and 10.30am where egress will be possible travelling west towardsJameston and then north through St. Florence to the B4318.

    Manorbier & Jameston

    Travel along the A4139 will be restricted between 7am and 3.30pm. There are however two crossingpoints available to access and exit the villages between these times. One via the B4585 north/souththrough St. Florence and the other through Jameston.

    Freshwater East

    Travel along the A4139 will be restricted between 7am and 3.30pm. There will be a one way systemimplemented on the A4139 from Lower Lamphey Road to enable trac to travel east towards St. Florenceand then on to the B4318. Return access is available from 12.30pm through Pembroke and along LowerLamphey Road. There is no access through Lamphey over the railway bridge.

    Hodgeston

    Travel along the A4139 will be restricted between 7am and 3.30pm. There will however be a briefperiod between approximately 10am and 10.30am where egress will be possible travelling north alongthe A4139 and then east towards St. Florence and on to the B4318. Return access is then available from12.30pm through Pembroke along Lower Lamphey Road, through Freshwater East to the south side of thevillage only.

    Pembroke

    Travel along the A4139 towards Lamphey and over St. Daniels Hill towards Angle will be restrictedbetween 7.30am and 12.30pm along with access south on the A4075 where it meets the A4139 at theroundabout. Main Street will remain open to trac until 8.30am to allow access on to the A4075 fortrac to exit the area travelling north on to the A477. Access in to and through Pembroke will be possiblethroughout the restrictions via the A4139 Bush Hill and on to Westgate Hill which will be made availableto two way trac. The race will clear of Pembroke by 12.30pm when all restrictions will be removed andnormal trac movements can resume.

    Lamphey

    Travel along the A4139 will be restricted between 7am and 3.30pm, there is no access through Lampheyover the railway bridge throughout this period. From 7am to 8.30am travel will be possible along TheRidgeway but access on to the A4139 will not be possible, The Ridgeway its self will be restricted from8.30am to 4pm. From 12.30pm access and egress to the north side of the village will be possible viaPembroke and Upper Lamphey Road, the south side can be accessed via Pembroke and Lower LampheyRoad.

    Castlemartin, Warren & St. Twinnels

    Travel along the B4319 will be restricted from 7.30am to 12.30pm. Travel along the B4320 will berestricted from 8.15am to 11.30am. Normal access and egress is available on either of these roadsoutside of the restriction times.

    Stackpole

    Travel along the A4139 will be restricted between 7.30am and 12.30pm. Egress from Stackpole travellingnorth is possible during this period through Freshwater East on to the A4139 then continue through St.Florence to the B4318.

    Cresselly

    Travel along the A4075 will be restricted from 9am to 4.30pm. Crossing points are available along thissection to allow east west travel and vice versa. Normal access and egress is available outside of therestriction times.

    Hundleton & Monkton

    Travel along the B4320 towards Angle will be restricted from 8.15am to 11.30am and towards MaidenWells from 7.30am to 12.30pm. Normal access and egress is available on either of these roads outside ofthe restriction times.

    Redberth

    Travel along the C3124 towards Sageston will be restricted from 8.30am to 4pm. Access on to the A477from the east side of village will not eected throughout the day. Normal access and egress is availableoutside of the restriction times.

    Madien Wells

    Travel along the B4319 will be restricted from 7.30am to 12.30pm. Travel along the B4320 will berestricted from 8.15am to 11.30am. Normal access and egress is available on either of these roadsoutside of the restriction times.

    Angle

    Travel along the B4320 and around the village will be restricted from 8.15am to 11.30am. Normal accessand egress is available on either of roads outside of the restriction times.

    TempletonTravel along the A4115 will be restricted in both directions from 9am to 4.30pm. Travel along the A478will be restricted in a northerly direction from 9.30 to 5pm, southbound travel will not be eected duringthese times. Normal access and egress is available outside of the restriction times.

    Wisemans Bridge & SummerhillTravel along the C3015 will be restricted between 9.30am and 5.00pm. Normal access and egress isavailable outside of the restriction times.

    Sageston & Carew

    Travel along the C3124 towards Redberth will be restricted from 8.30am to 4pm. Access is availablealong the yellow section of road throughout this period although access on to Birds Lane will not bepossible. Travel along the A4075 will be restricted from 9am to 4.30pm, although there are crossingpoints available. Normal access and egress is available outside of the restriction times

    Saundersfoot

    Travel along the B4316 will be restricted from 9.30am to 5pm. Access to and from Saundersfoot isavailable throughout this period via The Ridgeway. In addition the roads shown in yellow will be madeavailable to two way trac so access to and from the car parks can be maintained. Travel along the B4316

    Station Road will be restricted for north bound only. Normal access and egress is available outside of therestriction times.

    Narberth

    Travel along the A478 from St. James Street and continuing on to the B4314 Station road will not bepossible from 9.30am to 5pm. Travel south from St. James Street is available along with travel north onA478 Jesse Road, B 4313 Northeld Road and B4314 Cox Hill but the crossing of the route will not bepossible.

    New Hedges

    Travel along the A478 will be restricted from 10am in a southbound direction, north bound trac willbe unaected, then from 11.30am travel will be restricted in both directions until 5.30pm. Following5.30pm the restriction on northbound travel will be removed up until midnight when all restriction willbe removed. Travel along the B4316 will be restricted from 11.30am to midnight. Trac wishing the exitNew Hedges can do so north of the closure but must turn right on to the B4316 and follow the one waysystem. Access to New hedges is available throughout via the A478 on to the B4316 then in to the village.

    Park & RidePark and ride buses will be availiable from Carew Aireld to Tenby

    TENBY

    The walled coastal town of Tenby is the host for Ironman Wales with its stunning beaches, numerouscafes, popular restaurants and shops. This pretty seaside town is a spectacular backdrop for this world

    class event.

    The swim takes place on the South Beach at 7am before the athletes head around South Pembrokeshireon the bikes. There are a variety of Hot Spots throughout the town, the main ones being the South Paradeand The Norton for the bike leg of the race.

    The run then oers spectators the opportunity to cheer the runners on, down through Tudor Square andup around the spectacular Castle Hill, or line the streets as the runners loop through the course, beforethe big nish along The Esplanade with the stunning backdrop of Caldey Island across the water.

    Time to be there- best to be in the pretty seaside town before 10am

    Tenby House - Opening at 9 for rugby, breakfast and full menu all day.

    SAUNDERSFOOT

    With an abundance of pubs, shops and restaurants in the village, everyone is catered for and with thebeach and harbour close at hand, visitors can enjoy the best of both worlds in this spectacular area, whilstsupporting this event.

    Saundersfoot is a fantastic place to visit on any day and on race day will provide a warm welcome as ath-

    letes meet the tough challenge of St Brides Hill - this is sure to be become as famous as Heart Break Hilland will be a hot spot on the course.

    Heart Break Hill will resemble the Tour de France with athletes climbing the hill as crowds gather tocheer them on. Dont forget that athletes will be doing this hill twice, so they will need your help.

    Access to Wisemans Bridge and village just a few minutes walk away.

    If youre arriving early, park at Coppet Hall Car Park & stay for the day.

    Whats on

    The St Brides Spa Hotel - has an all day menu available, catering for the expected crowds observing theracing from the wonderful advantage viewing platform on Heartbreak Hill.

    The Captains Table opening from 9am.

    NARBERTH

    To say the town is excited is an understatement.

    With music at the top and bottom of the street, there will be a party atmosphere in the town, with sup-porters cheering on the athletes as they head through the town twice during the day.

    With a variety of pubs, tempting restaurant and unique shops, this makes the perfect place to relax andenjoy the event. With easy access to the A40, Narberth promises a fantastic day out for the whole family.

    PEMBROKE

    Pembroke Castle, steeped in history, dominates the town and is a great place to spend the day after therace is over, to enjoy a walk around the Mill Pond or a visit to the childrens park.

    The backdrop of the castle provides the perfect setting for the rst lap of the bike course.

    Pembroke will be a fantastic location to watch the bike leg, as you will see the athletes go up and downthe Main Street - the atmosphere will be electric.

    Parking - The Commons Car Park (there is also a childrens play area here too that is ideal for families),South Quay, Long entry and The Parade

    Free entry to Pembroke Castle for athletes and their families. (conditions apply).

    WISEMANS BRIDGE INN

    One of the most scenic locations on the course, overlooking the bay and one of the most exciting placesto watch the bike race.

    The Wisemans Bridge Inn will have a bouncy castle for the children, bacon rolls for breakfast, Sundaylunch and pig roast throughout the day, this one is a great location for the whole family.

    CAREW

    Carew Castle is well known as a prominent visitor attraction. The Mill Pond and castle, create the perfectbackdrop as the athletes ride over the bridge.

    With The Carew Inn pub, right on the course and with battle re-enactments, Carew plans to deliver a dayto remember.

    LYDSTEP

    The village of Lydstep is just a few miles from Tenby and oers a great community atmosphere for theathletes.

    With The Lydstep Tavern hosting a bouncy castle and late lunches, Lydstep is a great place to watch thisawesome event.

    Whats on -

    The Lydstep Tavern has an athletes menu, and has a bouncy castle for the children and more.

    Celtic Haven are hosting an Ironman Day. Buet lunch, free parking, kids obstacle course, nearest pin golf

    competition and great spectator position for both laps.

    JAMESTON

    Jameston is a welcoming village, with strong community connections and will be a fun place to watch thebikes lter through.

    With a few pubs, well stocked convenience store, childrens park and play area, it is a family friendly placeto be on race day.

    LAMPHEY

    Lamphey is the turning point for the second bike lap, so it is a great spot to watch the bikes going though,not just once, but twice.

    With a convenience store and a few pubs, Lamphey is a great place to cheer and support the athletes.
