Agriculture After the American Revolution our food went down and farmers were not able to harvest much. Although there has been much improvements, there has also been some new inventions. They helped very much, as to increasing our food stock from the help of South America. Mainour crip was down we couldn't

make our own food, so we had to buy our shops. Through the harsh years of the 1800s-1890s,We enjoyed a mild recovery after the impact of foreign

competition. Our agriculture has also increased from the railways and ships exporting the goods to Iping, England. This has helped through the poor

harvest.

Education

• Iping does not have very much education, but it's surrounding cities have schools that the children of Iping and all of England must attend until they reach the age of eleven. Education was also free in England after the Elementary Act of 1880. The law forcing children to go to school till they reached the age of eleven was made after the law preventing children from being able to work until they were fourteen years old. Then, they noticed that children had nothing to do during the day because their parents had to work all day so they decided to have the children of England go to school and learn. Then, they noticed that families were not eating because they had to spend their money on school. A law was passed stating that school will be at no expense.Lizzie Roberts

Safety

Many people in the town of Iping weren't so careful in the 1800's. Many just watched out for themselves. From that, many people died because of no

protection. It soon resulted in the carelessness of watching out for those on the railway. The railways caused many accidents. The town then realized and established signs, one in particular known as the Iping Common, describing

not to set fires. They also designed better roads and businesses. Less and less accidents ended up being from the railways once they were being well kept.

After, the towns people made sure the water was okay and that the appliances they used for anything such as cooking or rescue tools were able to be used.

They then thought about the businesses again and thought about the well being of customers and importantly the shops itself. This brought safety to

shopping and buying of the customers .

Recent Events

The years from 1890 to 1914 were not booming economically. Yet, these years were prosperous or still thriving. Unemployment rates

during that time were for the most part, low. In the 1890s in England, Queen Victoria had been the queen for fifty-three years.

The Liberal Party was in power during this time. Some historic events and international affairs that were happening during this time period were, the Great War or World War I, Labour political

activity became bigger, the Liberal split in 1886, which was caused by the Irish question. Because of this split, it helped keep the

Conservatives, until 1905, in power. The country was changing, politically, in which people favored social and economic reform.

Socialist organization and ideas and theory became more popular.

Famous Citizens As a child H.G. Wells developed a love for education. In 1883, he earned a

scholarship to The Normal School of Science in London. He studied biology at the school. However, during his time at the school he lost interest and left without a

degree. Later on, H.G Wells got his B.S degree in 1890. H.G Wells has never been arrested nor committed anything illegal that is still on record today. He did not run

an inn, but his father was a storekeeper and when he was young he and his brothers apprenticed for a draper. H.G Wells relates to the Invisible Man because during that time, he and the I.M were advanced men in their education and in ways of thinking.

Other famous people during H.G's time and of whom he was able to meet were Joseph Stalin, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky.
