IO [io] 8001 is a fully compliant MPEG 4 audio
video encoder for professional use, including
ISMA/RTP streaming and is fully up-to-date in
terms of audio video quality incorporating the
newest standards and protocols as well as high
tech encoder developments such as AAC+SBR.
IO [io] 8001 is a stand-alone 19" 2U high hard-
ware product which can be controlled by a
Windows Remote Software via IP, SNMP or a
Telnet interface. Easy control without a PC is
provided by the front panel keypad and a
graphical 128 x 64 LCD. Streaming to all
software players supporting MPEG 4 ISMA is
supported. Without display and keypad the IO
8000 model is ideal for remote controlled
applications.
IO [io] 8001 is an Audio Video Embedded Real-
time Solution and fully suitable for 24 hour 7
days operation due to its extremely and live
proven real-time operating system.
All levels of MPEG 4 simple profile and
advanced simple profile are supported by
MAYAH. Frames from 2 to 30 fps, image
resolutions from 16x16 to 720 x 576 (PAL),

IO [io] 8001
MPEG-4 is the standard choice for digital
audio-video coding. MPEG-4 provides core
technologies for efficient storage, transmission
and manipulation of audio video data in
multimedia enviroments.
The standard has been developed by MPEG,
the Moving Pictures Experts Group of ISO,
which also already introduced MPEG-1 and
MPEG-2:
MPEG-1 for storage of audiovisual information
on CD-ROM at low bit-rates
MPEG-2 as generic coding of digital TV and
HDTV signals at higher bit-rates.
MPEG-4 is an open standard which is assumed
to cope with the requirements of multimedia
applications covering a wide range of, bit-
rates, resolutions, qualities and services. That
is why MPEG-4 is ideal for use in storage and
transmission systems.
Compared to exisiting standards like MPEG-1
and MPEG-2 or H.263, MPEG-4 offers much
better coding efficiency.
Possible applications of the MPEG-4 standard
are broadcast, internet video, interactive video
games, infotainment applications, interactive
storage media, content based image and
video databases, real-time video communica-
tions (videoconferencing, videophone),
mobile multimedia, digital television set-top
boxes, studio and TV (post-)production and
many others.

IO [io] 7000 is a combination of hard- and
software. The 19” 2U high hardware supports
professional audio/video interfacing, analog as
well as digital. Different to IO [io] 8000/8001
which is a realtime embedded solution, IO [io]
7000 hardware is controlled by a powerful
windows software application. It is the most
sophisticated real-time video encoding software
available today that delivers to you an easy-to-
use, fast and professional solution for MPEG-4
multicast streaming.
Whether for broadcast, security or monitoring
applications, IO [io] 7000 will satisfy the
requirements with its fully MPEG-4 and ISMA
compliance being integratable in nearly all
environments.
By supporting Live Capturing of analog and
digital sources, AVI files and MPEG 1 files to be
encoded into a fully compliant MP4 File or a
fully compliant multicast ISMA /RTP stream
(profile 0 and 1), IO [io] 7000 can be used for
real-time as well as production purposes.
It enables the transcoding of a variety of media
files to MPEG-4 files. Optionally, hint tracks for
ISMA compliant streaming can be added, as
well as live encoding of captured audio and
video.
It allows highly individualized parameter
settings to control video output in terms of
quality as well as bandwidth usage.
In connection with any ISMA compliant stream-
ing server, all content will reach all people
using ISO MPEG-4 or 3GPP players (such as
Apple’s QuickTime Player, Real Network’s
RealOne Player, Media Player with plugin, etc.)
The Multi-Decoder enables the decoding of up
to 4 MPEG-4 ISMA streams and can display
them within one screen.
