Experiences and opportunities of Enterprise Social Media: Lessons learned

Many talk about it, some do it, very little have concrete experience with it. Shell will share with you their experiences of enabling their employees to use social media tools within the organisation. Daniel McPherson will share with you an overview of the opportunities of implementing Social Computing within SharePoint.

But the main goal for them is to exchange views, thoughts, experiences, reservations and opinions with you, around a large table with business managers.

There has been a lot of tweeting, blogging, seminar-ing and discussing going on about Enterprise Social Media. Thursday April 22nd practitioners will share real experiences in this new field of innovation. With Martin Reeves of Shell presenting and discussing their use of Social Computing tools within the company’s SharePoint platform and thought leader in this field Daniel McPherson sharing his experiences and vision on how to implement Enterprise 2.0 based on SharePoint 2010 platform.

So you can sit back and digest all learnings from these inspirators? No, sorry. Half of the afternoon is reserved for you. Around a table we will be discussing the do’s, don’ts, risks and opportunities of Social Computing within SharePoint. You can share thoughts and ask the experts how you might approach this in your own organisation. So you will be able to get concrete results from the session.

Martin ReevesMartin is Senior Business Analyst at Shell and led the project of implementing Social Computing tools within SharePoint at Shell, like blogging and the ShellTube. He has 16 years of experience in implementing organisational changes using technology. He will be able to bring the implementation of SharePoint at Shell in

perspective and can share with you the lessons learned and the level of success it is right now.

Daniël McPhersonDaniel is being asked by Microsoft regularly to present about Social Computing at Microsoft conferences around the world and to write research documents and whitepapers on Social Computing within SharePoint. He has been involved with SharePoint at Microsoft from the early start and chose to start Zevenseas in 2008. Zevenseas is a network of expert agencies on SharePoint with Social Computing as one of their core competences.
