Introducing our Community Programme When local businesses get together and work with schools, charities and community groups on their doorstep; great things can happen. Opportunities Available We will work closely with you to identify and communicate opportunities that match your skill-set, team size and time available. • Transform community spaces: Work as a team to transform tired, dated, well-loved community spaces. There are plenty of ways to help, whether you are a DIY expert, avid gardener or just keen to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. • Help realise employment and economic goals: Share your business expertise to support the growth of social enterprises; or help students and job seekers develop work skills through training and workshops. • Support students: Build young people’s confidence and raise aspirations by delivering careers talks and assemblies, becoming a reading or maths buddy, helping run lunchtime and afterschool clubs or by hosting a work experience student. • Be an environmental champion: Improve local community gardens, parks and playgrounds by taking part in litter picks, pulling on a pair of waders to clean out ponds, pruning overgrown vegetation and planting bulbs and hedgerows. • Reduce loneliness: Offer companionship to residents who are socially isolated through cooking lunches, hosting tea parties with quizzes and entertainment, providing IT support and volunteering as a befriender. • Donate and fundraise: Channel your unwanted office equipment, clothing, food and furniture to good homes in the local community.

Introducing our Community Programme

and community groups on their doorstep; great things can happen.

Opportunities Available

We will work closely with you to identify andcommunicate opportunities that match your skill-set,team size and time available.

Supporting You

We provide an end-to-end service; supporting youevery step of the way as you build relationships withthe community and schools on your doorstep.

• We will accompany you on a site visit to the community venue in advance of your volunteering, so you are familiar with the tasks, the beneficiaries and the space in which you will be volunteering.

• We will produce a risk assessment, briefing documents and an itinerary for the day. Projects sometimes require teams to provide a budget for materials e.g. paint or plants. This is normally less than £500 and we will notify you at the outset.

• At one-off events we will be with you all day to ensure everything runs smoothly. We will introduce key charity staff, brief volunteers, take photographs and provide coverage on social media.

• For long-term volunteering we will visit you and your project regularly and are always at the end of the phone for support.

• If you volunteer regularly with vulnerable people (children, the elderly, individuals with disabilities), you may be required to have a safeguarding check and attend training prior to volunteering. We will organise this.

• We produce and share case studies to champion community involvement and collate feedback from all parties to show how you have added to the Marble Arch community.

Introducing our Community Programme

You initially think you are doing something for other people who are less fortunate than yourself, but you end up realising that it is the volunteers who are also the beneficiaries. We got so much from the experience, bothas individuals andteam members.” Pier Francesco Boccia, IGT
