Introducing Arts Award for families this Summer
Arts Award is a fun way to find out about arts and culture and to learn new skills whilst gaining a nationally recognised certificate. It encourages children to take part in different creative activities at home, school / college or in the community, to learn about artists and their work and to share their discoveries and achievements with others. It’s a portfolio based qualification, so children document their experiences collecting special memories as they go along.
Arts Award is a national qualification offered across 5 levels for children and young people aged up to 25 years. It is managed by Trinity College London, who work in partnership with Arts Council England and with arts and cultural organisations, schools and other education settings all across the United Kingdom. You can find out more about Arts Award at www.artsaward.org.uk
Arts and cultural organisations are offering an inspiring range of experiences that are especially relevant for those working towards Discover, Explore andBronze levels but could also contribute to other levels in different ways.
Whether you are already working towards an Arts Award and looking for new experiences to add to your portfolio, or hoping to to start an ArtsAward, we hope this programme will help.
Attend as many events as you are able to, enjoy a range of diverse activities and creative experiences and meet artists who will inspire the next generation. The more you do the fuller and more exciting your portfolio will become!
This summer arts and cultural organisations in Exeter are working together to offer families and children the opportunity to take part in and enjoy a full range of arts experiences whilst working towards or completing an Arts Award qualification.
Exeter Northcott TheatreAs the sun shines the Northcott heads outside with a tour of William Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors. Pack a picnic, pull up a chair and enjoy the mayhem. Be inspired and entertained by the Northcott’s very own Graduate Company.
