Geoffrey Tivey

For the last twenty years, Geoff has been actively involved in the financial sector, having held positions initially as a lender at the “Royal Bank of Canada”- (RBC) and the “Bank of Montreal” - (BMO) both accredited tier one Canadian banking institutions, then acting as a business development manager for a US based Commercial Bank – “Interbay Funding” and now currently acting as a broker/owner to his own company – “Catalyst Financial Inc.” in addition to his most recent achievement of creating a financial consultancy partnership - “GTM

Group Inc” with serial entrepreneur and businessman, Tom McFarlane. During his career Geoff has gained significant experience in all facets of real estate financing from construction, rehab and repositioning to acquisition loans on all asset classes including income producing commercial / multi-residential to heavy industrial properties. Geoff has employed various strategies over the years from traditional funding with tier one banks to private placements with Mortgage Investment Companies, Private and Quasi-Institutional lenders. During this time, Geoff has built great trust and secured solid working relationships with all of his funding partners.

Geoff is a former graduate from Dalhousie University holding a Bachelor of Science with a major in Geology. Geoff also holds a diploma in Electronic Engineering Tech from NSCC. In addition, Geoff has completed significant training with “RBC” and “BMO” regarding loan and mortgage underwriting and risk analysis. The creation of Catalyst Financial Inc. in 2009 and the GTM Group Inc. in 2015 represents the culmination of Geoff’s collective inter-disciplinary skills and experience. Geoff is a leader in his field having the ability to be an “out of the box”, big picture thinker with an innate ability to structure both simple and complex commercial real estate deals.
