All textile processes have an impact on the environment. The TEXTILE industry uses large amounts of natural resources such as water, and many operations use chemicals and solvents. All TEXTILE industries use energy, produce solid waste, discharge effluent and emit dust, fumes, etc to the atmosphere. Many TEXTILE industries are located in urban areas where environmental protection is a key issue.
