JANUARY EVENTS

INTOUCH JANUARY 17TH, 2020

Fifty-eight Salesians gathered for Province Assembly Days (PAD 2020) at St. Francis Retreat in San Juan Bautista from January 12 to 14, 2020. The theme for PAD 2020 was “Accompanying One Another, Creating Our Future.” The event focused on sharing experiences of community life and visioning for the future. Fr. Ted Montemayor opened the session by sharing insights from the August 2019 meeting of the Conference of Major Superiors of Men in San Antonio. He laid the groundwork for a discussion on forming a narrative concerning our province. Monday’s morning session saw a panel discussion on various aspects of community life, especially on accompanying one another in both ministry and communal life.

Tuesday was devoted to dreaming about the future with the Salesians in initial formation sharing their experiences as well as their dreams concerning Salesian life. Small group discussions as well as ageneral group sharing helped to stimulate conversation and share common goals.

The opportunity afforded to take time to reconnect as a province, enjoy one another’s company in various outings, and pray together especially at the communal Eucharist renewed spirits and the commitment to serve those whom God has entrusted to our care.
