HISTORY OF INTERNETThe Internet, then known as ARPANET, was

brought online in 1969 under a contract let by the renamed Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) which initially connected four major computers at universities in the southwestern US (UCLA , Stanford Research Institute, UCSB, and the University of Utah).

CHARLEY CLINE was the first man who use ARPANET first time on Oct 29 , 1969.

DIAL UP CONNECTIONS

Dial-up connections are the most common type of Internet connection available from ISPs. They are also the slowest and usually less cost A dial-up connection allows us to connect the Internet through a local server using a Standard 56k modem.

CABLE CONNECTIONS

One of the best types of internet connection available to the home user is cable connection, they offer very fast speed and reliable connections with a fixed monthly fee.

Cable Modem Broadband connection through an ordinary coax cable through your digital cable provider is the easiest and most common way to connect to the Internet at high speeds.

SATELLITES This type of connection is most expensive

alternative for getting a high-speed connection to the Internet. If user lives in a rural area or a spot where other options are not available, then this is probably users only hope for a high-speed connection. These come in two varieties, 1-way and 2-way. One-way satellites are like television receivers: they only accept signals.
