Internet Addiction or “Screen Abuse”

Covers today all forms of technology abuse: Internet

overuse, problematic computer use, pathological

computer use – and even iDisorder [Wikipedia].

Usual areas: Computer gaming, online gambling, social

networking, blogging, video viewing, emailing, Internet

pornography, online shopping.

Excessive computer use which interferes with everyday normal life.

Educators are willing to use AR to deliver a teaching experience that lasts.

Learners engage in the things they are doing, be it learning or training or reading a book.

There are plenty of AR tools that are easy to use.

The Problem

Help school children (ages 8 to 14) better understand the opportunities and risks of being online and thus become more resilient and capable of protecting themselves more effectively.

Studies have shown the school children trust their teachers for matters that concern them.Parents are troubled about children’s online safety and frequently take protective measures of a prohibitive character limiting their children’s online experiences.

There are technological solutions for almost all technology related problems.Online identities and safer Internet use in general needs interdisciplinary approach as technology and the Internet are integral parts of modern life.

Augmented Reality is not a remedy for all technology related problems but is a relatively simple technology with high educational potential
