NOW GO TO A COMPUTER

Ask a student with experience or your teacher to helpyou with the next pages.

Note to teacher or tutor:Depending on the set-up and your browser, items may appear differently. It issuggested that you use Internet Explorer and it appears as a shortcut on thedesktop of the computers. If you don’t choose to put a shortcut, then you willneed to teach the students how to open it from the programs menu.

When students click in the address box on the browser, the address will appearblue. When the address is blue, the students can begin typing without deleting. You may wish to teach them this.

Web page addresses often start with http:/ which while typing web pageaddresses is unnecessary. http:/ has been eliminated from the screen shots wherestudents are asked to identify the address in these lessons, however when thestudents actually go to the sites, the address in the box changes to include it. Youmay choose to point this out to the students.

“Web page” and Websites are used interchangeably in this lesson. You maywant to point out to the students that they are similar.
