YUAN YUAN LIUYuan Yuan Liu is from China and is progressing to an Accounting and Finance degree upon completion of the International Foundation Programme. She chose the IFP at Reading because she wished to enter Henley Business School, which is ‘one of the best business schools in England.’*

When asked about her favourite thing about the IFP and the University, she said, “The best thing about the IFP is that the teachers are very kind and I think the modules that I take now will help me a lot when I take my UG degree.”

“My favourite thing about the University of Reading is the campus environment, because I love the open space and the greenery everywhere.”

CARLOS CHENGCarlos Cheng is from Hong Kong and is progressing to a Real Estate degree. He chose the IFP at the University of Reading because it is his goal to become a Chartered Surveyor.

Carlos is enjoying life at Reading, “The best thing about the IFP is the diversity of the people. There are many people from around the world and I have met a lot of new friends. If you’re a sports lover, you would definitely love the IFP because it has a lot of sport teams. The best thing about the University of Reading is the campus because it is big and there are a lot of facilities. It is only ten minutes away from the town centre where you can go for movies and shopping. It only takes ten minutes from my dorm to reach my classes.”

YOUNIS AL-BRASHDIYounis Al-Brashdi is from the Sultanate of Oman and is progressing to Finance and Investment Banking for his Undergraduate Degree.

He says, “I chose the IFP because of the prestigious position of the University of Reading in general and in the field of Finance and Investment. The support before and after arriving has been great.“

Younis is enjoying university life and the social side of the IFP, “There are so many events and activities, which is a nice opportunity to have fun and make new friends. My favourite thing about the University of Reading is that you can find everything that you want on campus – so you can spend your whole day at the University. Also there are many Halal food options provided.”

OLUWASEMILORE AKANDEOluwasemilore Akande is from Nigeria and is progressing to a degree in Psychology.

Oluwasemilore has settled in well, “The best thing about the IFP is that there are many social events which allow us to showcase all our different cultures. There are also Star Mentors and Academic Tutors whom we can always rely on and ask questions of them if we need to.”

“My favourite thing about the University of Reading is that it is a campus university. Everything is really accessible so we don’t have to walk miles. It is very easy for me to get to campus and back because there is a bus stop close to our IFP building.”

“My advice to future IFP students is to be as social as possible and not to be afraid to represent where you come from.”
