1. Enrolment at KIT

You have already received or will soon receive the
KIT Account access details (email, online-self
management)
You will receive your KIT card later today
Enrolment is completed
2. Registration in town
Where: local citizen services (Bürgerbüro) of your
district
What to bring: passport (with visa or with eAT and
Zusatzblatt), rental contract, written confirmation of
your landlord („Wohnungsgeberbestätigung“)
When: in the first 2 weeks after moving in

Re-registration for next semester by paying the fees:
January 15 – February 15 for summer term (April)
July 1 – August 15 for winter term (October)
PENALTY FEE FOR LATE PAYMENTS: 15€
Download enrolment certificates and transcripts
Register for exams (some majors)
See your study progress (for some majors)

Important to know…
Always inform the foreigners’ office about any changes in
your personal circumstances: change of address, longer
period of absence, internship, intended change of university
or study program…
Very important: do not leave Germany for more than 6
months without telling the foreigners’ office (otherwise you
will not be allowed to return!)
Re-register each semester by paying the registration fee!
Double Degree Students have to be enrolled at KIT for the
whole study program, even for the year at the partner
university.
Register for exams on time. Late registration no exam-
taking possible!

You must leave the university for a semester due to familiy issues,
illness, internship…?: Take an official leave of absence (Beurlaubung)
Working during your studies
120 days/year or 240 half days/year
Additionally: Working at university and mandatory internship
