International Student Transfer Process

Step by Step If you are transferring from another college or a Language Center within the USA, you must be admitted

REQUIREMENTS FOR NEW F-1 VISA STUDENTS

Congratulations! Welcome to Porterville College!

Now that you have been accepted as an F-1 visa student at Porterville College, you are required to comply with the following matriculation procedures before registering for courses:

Visa: You must make an appointment for a US visa at a US consulate in your home country and pay the student visa (Form I-901) at https://fmjfee.com/i901fee

Before visiting the US Embassy be prepared for your interview by presenting the following:

• I-20 Form with Acceptance Letter• Financial Documents/Scholarship• SEVIS (I-901) Receipt• Valid Passport

Admission to Porterville College: Now that you’ve been admitted as an F-1 visa and have a student ID#• Visit the PC website and apply to CCCapply at www.portervillecollege.edu/node/4114.• You must use the assigned # we provided you (999-00-XXXX) in place of the Social Security

Number (SSN) that the Admission form is requesting.• After you submit your application, you will receive a Porterville College Banner Student ID

beginning with @00 and a student email ending in @email.portervillecollege.edu

Orientation: Attending Orientation is required by all F-1 Visa admitted students:• In-Person or online orientation are available

Assessment: All students MUST attend and complete a placement test in order to determine their ability in reading, writing, and math skills, regardless of their TOEFL score. ( TOEFL scores are for purpose of admissions only)• Assessment testing is available on campus upon your arrival.• You will be placed in English and math courses according to your assessment results.

Counseling & Registration: You will be meeting with a counselor to discuss your registration and course selection.

Student Educational Plan (SEP): All students will complete a Student Education Plan after the second week of classes.

Student Fees: All fees must be paid upon registration. Porterville College does not offer housing on-campus or off-campus.

STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT An applicant must present evidence of financial resources to defray costs during the period of attendance at Porterville College. These costs are estimated to be $ 15,000 per academic year, which include: housing and livingexpenses, (approx. $800 per month), textbooks and supplies (approx. $500 per semester), student center fees ($5per semester), enrollment fees ($46 per unit per semester), non-resident tuition fees ($200 per unit), and capitaloutlay fee of ($42 per unit). Please note that foreign students are not eligible for financial aid from the College.

F-1 Visa students are required to enroll in a minimum of 12 units each semester. Registration payments can be paid

on-line by credit cards, US check, money order, or cash to Porterville College after registration. Please show the

amount of funds available to you for annual expenses. Exchange and currency regulations should be considered.
