Step One

TostudyatAUTyouwillneedtoapplyeitherdirectlytotheUniversityorthroughanAUTRegisteredAgent.ApplicantsmustcompletethisInternational

StudentApplicationform,ensuringallsectionsarecompletedinfull,andthatthe programme of choice is clearly indicated. You will need to supply all therequired certiied documentation otherwise this will delay your application.

The applicant can accept the offer by signing the acceptance of offer formand returning a copy to University Admissions Office.

The fees for programmes of study offered to international studentsare generally set in the second quarter of the preceding academic year.

Tuition fees are set annually by the university council and are for thecalendarperiodofJanuarytoDecember.

TheinternationalfeeforoneyearoffulltimestudywillbeadvisedintheOfferofPlace.Thefeesstatedwillbeapplicableonlytothecalendaryear (January-December)in which theprogramme iscommenced. Ifthe programme extends for one or more semesters in a subsequentcalendaryear(s)thestudentwillberequiredtopayallfeesapplicablefor that calendar year (s).

Please note that the Offer of Place is valid for the entire period of studyinaprogrammeprovidedthatthestudenthasacurrentpermit/visa.AllstudentsmustkeepacopyoftheOfferofPlacefortheirrecords.

ImmigrationNew Zealand(INZ) requiresthat internationalstudentsundertake full time study to comply with the conditions of theirstudentpermit.FulltimestudyatAucklandUniversityofTechnologyisdeemedtobe120pointsperyear,or60pointspersemester.

All international students are required to pay a non-refundableNZ$150enrolmentfeefortheirfirstyearofstudyonly.

All first year international students must pay all fees as detailed in theOfferofPlacebythestatedduedate.Thefeesnotedontheofferwillbetuitionfees,learnerserviceslevy,enrolmentfeeandmedicalandtravel insurance fee.

Astudent will not beenrolledat AucklandUniversity ofTechnologyuntilallfeesarepaidinfull.Ifthetuitionfeesarenotpaidinfullbytherequireddatethenthestudentwillbewithdrawnfromtheprogramme.ImmigrationNewZealand(INZ)willbeadvisedthatthestudentisnolongerstudyingatAucklandUniversityofTechnology.

Ifyouaremakingapaymentviaascholarshiporfinancialguarantee,evidence of fees to be paid must be provided for the full programme ofstudy one month prior to the start of the semester.

Ifaninternationalstudentisstudyingmorethan120pointsperyearor60pointspersemester,additionaltuitionfeeswillbepayablebasedonthe number of additional credit points studied.

IfthefeecalculatedatthetimeofenrolmentintopapersislessthanthatdetailedontheOfferofPlace,anycreditbalanceonthestudentsaccountwillbe held bythe Universityand applied toa subsequentenrolment. The amount of the credit balance is not available as arefund and any credit balance that remains outstanding for a period oftwoyearsormorewillbeforfeited.

Note about returning international students:

All returning international students are required to pay the fee calculated on theirinvoicewhichisbasedupontheenrolmentintopapersintheirchosenprogrammeof study.

Forinternationalstudentsother thanin theirfirstyearofstudy,tuitionfees,learner services levy and the medical and travel insurance fee (if insurancearrangedthroughAUT)mustbepaidtwoweekspriortothestartofthesemester.
