An interjection is a word in a sentence to express some feeling or emotion of the mind.They usually come at the beginning of a sentence.

Examples:Hurrah, Wow, Ah, Well, Hello, Hey, Oh, Hmm, Alas

Interjection for greetingInterjection for joyInterjection for surpriseInterjection for Grief/pain

These interjections are used to indicateemotion of warmth towards the otherperson when they meet.These include: Hello!, Hey!, Hi! etc.

Examples:Hey! Good to see you today.Hello! I am Jane

These interjections are used to indicate immediate emotion of happiness on

a sudden happy event that occurred.These include: Hurrah! , Wow!, Hurray! etc.

Examples:Hurrah! We won the match.Wow! I passed the exam.

These interjections are used by the speaker when he expresses a strong sense of surprise on something that happened.

These include: Ha!, What!, Oh!, Ah! etcExamples:What! His mother died?Ah! I got promoted.

These interjections are used by the speaker when he expresses a strong emotion of grief on something unfortunate that happened.

These include: Alas!, Oh!, Ah!, Ouch! etc.

Examples:Alas! He is dead.Ouch! I hurt my foot.
