University’s Spirit
Ab

The university’s task, like any other human activity, reflects a spirit that becomes his principle, which gives its unique character, its
essence. The term "college spirit" is trying to say something deeper
than what it might mean a style, a way of being, a common
practice or way of behaving in the university.

What You Need to Know
Before You Enroll
Distance learning courses are just as demanding as classroom courses.
With intensive lesson plans and strict deadlines, students must be able to
dedicate sufficient and consistent amounts of study time each week.
Students who tend to procrastinate or put off their studies until the last
minute do not succeed within this learning environment.
Students should have regular access to a computer with a reliable, high
speed (cable, dsl) Internet connection. Basic technology skills are also
required, such as being able to maneuver through the Internet, create
electronic documents and access online resources at our platform.
Do not worry, a basic how to tutorial introducing students to the course
management system is available online at the Universidad Azteca
distance learning web site and at the Propaedeutic Preparatory
instruction to the program.

Frequently Asked Questions: Are online courses self-paced?
No! While you may login and work within the course at anytime, students are required to submit work and
take exams by specific due dates.
Do I need to be logged in at a certain time?
No, but live interactive sessions are available for students who seek to communicate with their instructor or
classmates.
Do I need to buy a textbook?
All distance learning courses require textbooks and learning material, most of that is provided by our
academic department and will be available at the Educational Platform online.
Do online courses have enrollment limits?
Just like in the classroom, seats are limited, so faculty can dedicate enough time and assistance to each
student.
Will my distance learning course transfer?
Distance learning courses transfer just like classroom courses. Please check with Azteca transfer
agreements before enrolling.
Must I attend my hybrid classes?
To maximize your learning potential, students are required to attend the in class portion, as well as
participate in the online activities of a hybrid course!

Blended Distance Learning at Azteca?
Distance learning offers Azteca students a flexible, convenient way to earn university
degree. Instead of regularly attending on-campus classes, students can participate in their
courses anytime, anywhere, through the Internet. Each course has a dedicated instructor
who facilitates this educational experience through a series of learning activities.
Many of our courses include: -Text, audio or video based lectures.
- Interactive discussions and chats.
- Audio and video programs.
- Assignments, exams and related assessments.
Online Courses Students can participate in online courses at anytime, as there are no set login times.
However, students must be aware of strict due dates of assignments and exams! Online
courses, for the most part are 100% online. Some courses do have orientation meetings or
on-campus testing, so please check with the distance learning department before enrolling.
Hybrid Courses. Hybrid courses are a blend of in-class and online learning. Students have face to face
contact with their instructors during regular, in-class sessions, while online sessions are meant
to reinforce and further learning through the use of technology.
