A string instrument about 4
or 5 ft in length with a
sounding bowl at its lower
end. The bowl is about 10”
wide and 12” deep. Has 4
strings.
A sting instrument similar to
the tambura in addition to the
bowl at the lower end, there
is also a smaller bowl at the
upper end which serves as a
supprt to the neck of the
veena. It has 7 stings.
A string instrument played
with a bow, may have 3 or
4 strings it has no frets
and has sympathetic
vibrator which produces
harmony
A reed instrument
resembling the oboe
in appearance. It is
made of wood or
metal. About 2 or 2½
feet in length.
Consists of two drums with
covering on one side each.
One drum is for the right hand
(bayan) and the bigger one is
for the left hand (daina) played
by means of beating.
